Resort Pool Restrictions Ahead of Disney Springs Bus Changes

Disney Springs transportation changes will be in place starting June 28th, and it looks like new restrictions have been put in place at at least one resort, too.

Disney Springs Boat to Port Orleans French Quarter

We ventured out to Disney Springs this morning so we could take a boat to Port Orleans French Quarter.

Boat transportation from Disney Springs will change on June 28th, too, as you can see from the sign we snapped this morning. Starting June 28th, Guests will need to have a Disney resort reservation, dining or experience reservation to board buses or boats from Disney Springs.

After the lovely ride from Disney Springs to Port Orleans French Quarter, we went straight to the Doubloon Lagoon pool.

There is now a Cast Member stationed at the entrance the pool, as shown in the photo above. The Cast Member at the gate is checking MagicBands or the My Disney Experience app to ensure valid Port Orleans French Quarter or Riverside reservations.

Port Orleans Pool Wristbands

Once reservations have been verified, guests will receive a wristband that they must keep on during their pool visit. The wristbands, shown above, change color each day. This process is similar to the one that has been used at Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Beach Club Resort for years.

Wristbands have also been used at other resorts during holidays or busy periods, so this isn’t exactly new, it just seems to be expanding.

We will be at Disney Springs on the 28th to check out the new screening process for bus and boat transportation, so stay tuned.

We encountered the bands at the Boardwalk Luna Park Pool in late April (low-ish crowds). So I definitely think they are starting to crack down more at the more accessible resorts.
