Shopping Disney Springs at Home

Now that the transformation of Downtown Disney into Disney Springs is nearly complete, I’ve heard a bit of scoffing that it’s “just a mall.” Well, maybe . . . actually yes, but to that I say, “But it’s a really good mall.”

And while some of the Disney Springs shops are ubiquitous in some parts of the United States (I’m talking to you Sephora), even most of the chain stores are not present in all states and certainly not in all countries from which a Disney guest might visit.

Some national retailers have Disney branded merchandise that’s easier to find at their Disney Springs location.

So, in case you regret not buying something you saw during your visit, or if you fell in love with a Disney Springs shop and want more of their wares on an ongoing basis, here’s a roundup of how to shop at the Disney Springs stores when you’re not at Walt Disney World.

Also note, many of the shops with websites have mailing lists where they periodically offer discounts for purchases in their shops or online. Even if you’re standing in the store at Disney Springs, it could make sense to take a quick pop over to the store’s website or run a quick search for “[Store X] discount codes” or “[Store X] coupon codes” to find sources of savings not readily available in the shop. Also ask about store loyalty programs (my Sephora loyalty card and the beauty product habits of my three teenage daughters have gotten me several perks at the Disney Springs shop) and things like student or teacher discounts that may not be common at Disney but are prevalent at general retailers.

Other reasons you might want to consult a store’s website are to find a color or size of an item that’s not in stock at that location, or to have an item shipped directly to your home rather than carry it yourself. I’ve done this several times at the Disney Springs Uniqlo when their $5 online shipping makes more sense than incurring a $25 checked bag fee on my airline.

And of course, if a store has a retail shop at your local mall, then that might be a place to skip shopping on your vacation, using that time and money for more unique goods or experiences.

In addition to the national and international retailers with a presence at Disney Springs, there are, not surprisingly, a number of stores which are obviously, or perhaps not so obviously, Disney Merchandise locations. These include: Art of Disney, The Disney Corner, Disney Design-A-Tee, Candy Cauldron, Days of Christmas, Pin Traders, Disney Style, Disney’s Wonderful World of Memories, Ever After Jewelry, Goofy’s Candy Co., Marketplace Co-op, Mickey’s Pantry, Once Upon A Toy, Star Wars Galactic Outpost, Star Wars Trading Post, Superhero Headquarters, Tren-D, and World of Disney.

Much, but not all, of the merchandise carried in these stores can also be found in shops in the WDW theme parks and hotels, as well as at shops at Disneyland and the international theme park locations. You can call find lots of the Disney parks merchandise on the Shop Disney Parks app, and other Disney-branded merchandise can be found at the Disney Store retail locations, DisneyStore.com, and the Disney Outlets in the Orlando area. (If you’re interested in official Disney merchandise at discount prices, you can find no finer source of information than the monthly outlet report by our intrepid theme park warrior, Derek Burgan.)

So Orlando visitors, do you go shopping while you’re at Disney Springs, or do you skip the stores you can visit at home? Does your home location influence your Disney Springs shopping? Do locals like to shop the Disney Springs locations of big retailers, or do the tourists just get in your way? Let us know in the comments below.

  • Reminds me of all the times I’ve rolled my eyes at people shopping Disney Springs for stuff they could get at their local mall. Until a cold front blew in and I found myself at the Columbia store so my traveling companion could buy a jacket.

  • Just bought a Stitch sculpture on Shop Disney Parks app. A lot easier than schlepping it home when I’m at Disney Springs, shipping was free for over $75 items and there was not tax charge to boot.
