Star Wars Dining at Walt Disney World: What You Need To Know
Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios has added two Star Wars dining experiences to its Star Wars Weekends lineup and, though Star Wars Weekends hasn’t officially started, the dining experiences began yesterday. Offered daily May 4, 2014, through June 15, 2014, the meals include the Star Wars Dine-In Galactic Breakfast at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant, and Jedi Mickey’s Star Wars Dine Dinner at Hollywood & Vine. As with all Disney Dining Experiences, there are some things you need to know to make your meal go as smoothly as possible.
STAR WARS DINE-IN GALACTIC BREAKFAST at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater
The Dine-In Galactic Breakfast is served at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater every morning through June 15, 2014, from 8 a.m. to noon. The price ($47.99 for adults and $29.99 for kids ages 3-9) gets you pastries, and appetizer, an entree, a breakfast dessert (not listed on the menu), and a non-alcoholic beverage. No discounts are accepted, and the meal will take two adult table service credits per person from your Disney Dining Plan Account. Though it’s rare for a child’s meal to pull adult credits, we did confirm this with booking and the restaurant, so be sure to ask what you’re going to be “charged” if you’re on the dining plan.
What do you need to know about breakfast? First, the menu is fairly limited and a little odd. The full menu is here. Reports from yesterday’s service were that it was a little slow, and some of the food wasn’t the best, but it’s a new offering for this restaurant, so it’s likely that those kinks will work out. Second, the restaurant itself is themed as a drive-in theater, so the environment is pretty dark. While you have an immediate photo op with Darth Vader and Boba Fett (with PhotoPass and a special backdrop) as you enter the restaurant, your pictures with the Jawas, Greedo, and Storm Troopers inside the dining room may not come out so great, even with a flash. If character meet and greets are a big reason for booking for your family, be sure to take this into account. You do get a special PhotoPass card with your entrance photos on it.
The Star Wars Dine-In Galactic Breakfast can only be booked by calling (407) WDW-DINE. You’ll check in at the Sci-Fi Dine-In theater and may have to wait a while outside before being called in, as the photo prior to breakfast tends to slow the process down a bit.
JEDI MICKEY’S STAR WARS DINE at Hollywood & Vine
Jedi Mickey’s Star Wars Dine is served at Hollywood & Vine daily through June 15, 2014, beginning at 4:30 p.m. and scheduled to close depending on park hours. The price ($55.99 for adults and $32.99 for kids ages 3-9) includes the dinner buffet and a non-alcoholic beverage. No discounts are accepted, and the meal will take two adult table service credits per person from your Disney Dining Plan Account. Again, though it’s rare for a child’s meal to pull adult credits, we did confirm this with booking and the restaurant, so be sure to ask what you’re going to be “charged” if you’re on the dining plan. You may also opt to book the Fantasmic Dinner Package (reserved seating at Fantasmic! after dinner) with this meal for $59.99 for adults and $36.99 for kids ages 3-9. This dining experience can only be booked by calling (407) WDW-DINE.
What do you need to know about dinner? First, you’ll need to check in at the podiums set up in front of the restaurant prior to your reservation time.Walk ups MAY be taken, but only if there are cancellations. Check with cast members around 4:15 for availability and remember: you must have your entire party with you to be seated. You may be required to wait a little while on the porch, as the photo op with Ewok Chip and Dale as you enter slows things down a bit. Once you’re called you’ll enter a line for the photo, after which you’ll be seated.
Second, the buffet is massive. It feels like Hollywood & Vine has really stepped it up recently with its offerings, and this buffet is no exception. Find a list of most, if not all, of the items offered here. Everything we tried was great – not over-the-top amazing, but a solid meal with kid-friendly and vegetarian offerings as well as customizable salad and pasta dishes. The desserts were not only tasty but fun to look at, as well.
Third, characters at this venue are all Disney characters in Star Wars regalia including Ewok Chip and Dale (who do not circulate in the dining room), Storm Trooper Donald, Goofy Vader, Jedi Mickey, and Leia Minnie. The characters do sign autographs. We arrived right at 4:15 and were seated around 4:45. Reservations hadn’t really started to bump yet, and we got great character interactions with multiple pictures.
Based on first-day feedback and experiences, the Hollywood & Vine dining experience is more little-kid-friendly than the Sci-Fi Dine-In meal. If you’ve been trying to decide between the two, give dinner a solid check in the “great dining experience box.”

My husband sent an email to guest relations and received a phone call from the manager at Sci-fi that said the post is incorrect. Adults are being charged 2 adult TS credits while children are being charged 2 child TS credits. He told my husband that he was upset that incorrect information was being passed along to the public and he wants to assure those with children that are dining with them for the breakfast experience that they are not charging adult meal credits for children age 3-9.
Do you think they will take walk-ups?
So it’s been a while. We’re doing the breakfast and just wanted to confirm that we’re looking at 2 Adults and 2 kids (actually since one is 10, she’s paying adult meal plan prices now right?) so are they taking 2 of my adult meals for my kid or is it just that it’s taking 2 meals from each of us? Has everyone found the breakfast to be worth it?
I just called based on this info. I called 3 different times. I was advised that the 2 Adults Credits for children is incorrect. There are glitches with Disney’s system (we know). But children can only be charged/deducted for children credits on dining plan due to how credits are allocated.
Monique, I hope that this is true. But there can often be inconsistent answers given between calls and the actual location, so I’m leaving the post as-is and asking that anyone who has seen this language on the dining descriptions: “Please note: For Guests using a Disney Dining Plan, each Star Wars Dine-In Galactic Breakfast requires 2 adult table-service meal entitlements” and has questions as AT THE RESTAURANT to be sure.
I just called this morning and the Dining Reservation Representative told me the following. NO you will not be charged 2 adult meal credits for a child’s meal. If guests are being told this AND bloggers are posting this type of information… It is NOT true! Guests will be charged 2 ADULT meal credits on the Disney Dining Plan per each ADULT meal ordered. And… Guests will be charged 2 CHILD meal credits on the Disney Dining Plan per each CHILD meal ordered. It makes NO SENSE whatsoever to charge a child for an adult meal… PLUS, there would be no way to credit the groups dining plan accordingly as each guest has there own credits to use and it would be impossible to make extra adult credits appear out of thin air.
One thing that the representative did say was it could be possible that guests were ordering adult meals for children and then the credits were being allotted accordingly based on what was ordered. Still a pricey meal all around, but I’m planning on enjoying the breakfast to its fullest on May 30th.
I really would like to sample ALL the meals provided… With a party of 4 adults and 1 child, should we all order different meals to make this a reality (sampling ALL of the entrees) or can I request samples or additional entrees as I complete my meal? Am I asking too much or do you think I can try a little of everything without making everyone in my party ordering something different?
The reservations Cast Members are as “on the ground” as you are. As long as the website reads this way and it’s what we’ve been told, I’m going to leave the advice that people make sure what they’re being charged prior to eating. Because again, it’s never a bad idea to ask when the policy that Disney has taken many steps to put many places is worded differently than usual. If it works out that it’s just 2 credits per person, fantastic!
Really don’t understand why kids would be charged 2 adult TS meals. Hoping that it’s a mistake. A family of 2 adults, 2 kids, would have used 8 adult meals. How would they spend the 8 extra kids credits- it’s not like you can send your 4 and 6 year old into a table service restaurant on their own.
I just got off the phone with Disney Dining and was assured that “2 ADULT table-service credits” is a glitch in the system. That, yes, it will cost 2 table-service credits, but either Adult or Child depending on what’s applicable.
I was at the breakfast yesterday morning. The special dessert is a cherry flavored one – its like the older whipped cream and fruit pieces dessert salads – but the twist is that the majority of the “fruit” are the little bubble poppers (cherry flavored) like they have in the bubble tea in the F&G booth in China. It really is a neat dessert. And the “stick” on top is chocolate. When we were leaving, we talked to the guy outside at the DVC stand and he was telling us that the meal is like Cinderella’s Royal Table where you can order more than one entree if you want, they just don’t tell you that you can do it. Since we had already eaten we couldn’t test it 🙁
Two adult credits eh? Well drat on that. It is just me and my son coming down for that, and I upgraded our DDP for our short stay so it would cover the breakfast, and it made more sense for us overall.
Now I am a bit confused as to what is going on.
Roger, just be sure to double-check with your server or even at the check-in podium before you eat. They will have had experience with how the credits are allocated at that point. The site says 2 adult credits for all guests, so we just wanted people to be aware and not get blindsided.
I will do. I didn’t even think of it when I booked it the day they announced it. I just assumed (d’oh!) that it was a mistake, and 2 credits per person would be 2 credits per person. Seems odd to have it must be adult credits when I can’t exactly just magic up adult credits from my 7 YO’s DDP. Probably still worth my upgrade overall though, and still crazy excited to be there on the 18th!
It makes no sense for WDW to charge 2 adult credits for kids when they are not charging the same cash price for kids and adults. I could even see charging 1 adult credit for kids; but 2 makes no sense. You know, other than flat out greed.
There is a very “in the know” person on the DIS boards who confirmed that this is NOT the case – 2 child credits per child will be charged, NOT 2 adult credits per child.
I am confident that there the CMs who are telling people two adult credits for everyone are misinformed and spreading false information. There is a separate kids’ menu as well: “** Kenobi Cuisine – scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and breakfast potatoes; ** Gamorrean Goodness – Puffed French toast sticks in cinnamon sugar with chocolate dipping sauce”
Julia, the children’s menu is listed within the main menu. Thank you, though. As for the dining credit information, the website for both locations states “adult dining credits” specifically and this was verified on site. We’re giving people a heads up just in case so that there are no surprises. While I’m sure your source is knowledgeable, they’ve not eaten at the locations and it never hurts to make sure before you dine so that you’re not left with fewer dining credits than you planned.
I seriously think Disney is about to get major complaints from parents about this. It is ridiculous to think they are having to use two adult dining credits for young children.
We have plans to do the sci-fi breakfast but I’m loving the vader and yoda cupcakes at H&V, are the desserts at the breakfast similar?
Hi Brittany. No, the dessert is not the same. The breakfast dessert is a cobbler-type concoction that, quite frankly, looked too unappetizing to eat.
