The Best Disney Stocking Stuffers and Small Gifts
Want to share some of that Walt Disney World magic with friends, coworkers, or a distant cousin, without spending too much dough? There’s lots of fun little souvenirs that makes great small gifts or stocking stuffers. From ornaments to pins to unconventional ideas too, here’s some ideas for how to look like Santa’s little helper this year.
Disney Ornaments
I have to start with my favorite Disney World souvenir, Christmas ornaments. Consistently, year after year, Walt Disney World produces some adorable and beautifully detailed ornaments. Of course, the price tag tends to go up each year too. Looks for two-for deals that are offered on occasion, or purchase a multi-ornament box set and divide up one ornament per recipient. You can have ornaments personalized at the Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Magic Kingdom or the Disney’s Days of Christmas store at Disney Springs. The closer you get to Christmas, though, the longer the turnaround time on orders. Ornaments are a great way to mark your Disney vacation, especially as you unwrap it to go on the tree year after year, and they’re a lovely way to share some Disney holiday magic with others.
Theme Park and Disney Character Mugs
If you’re like me, you can’t have too many mugs, especially Disney mugs. Disney merchandise shops usually have shelf upon shelf lined with Disney mugs. Some designs are so imaginative and detailed you almost don’t want to drink out of them. Some of the best stores to find a large assortment of mugs are the main stores of each theme park: The Main Street Emporium at Magic Kingdom, MouseGear at Epcot, Mickey’s of Hollywood at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Discovery Trading Company at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Give a Disney mug to someone who needs a little pixie dust with their morning coffee.
Silly and Fun Disney Socks
It seems the crazy sock craze that started a few short years ago is not slowing down anytime soon. Disney has lots of festive holiday socks, which do make fun holiday gifts, but if you’d rather give a gift that can be used year-round there are plenty of fun Disney designs too. Socks may seem like a weird gift, but there are many people who love silly socks (I’m not one of them for the record.) Some of the bigger merchandise shops at Disney have advent gift sets of socks and socks inside a clear ornament, which would make a fun craft project after the socks have been taken out. You can also find them on the Disney Parks Shop online.
Disney Pins
Trading pins at Disney has been around just about twenty years and while the craze has peaked, seemingly on the decline, they make a wonderful small gift or stocking stuffer. Nearly every Disney character, including obscure ones, have appeared on a pin at one point or another. My two favorite Disney pin stores are Disney Pin Traders at Disney Springs and Pin Central at Epcot.
If you can’t find the perfect pin for that special someone, try looking around the trading lanyards of Cast Members and see if you can trade for it. If you do trade for the perfect pin, be sure to tell the story of how you found it when giving it to your recipient–it is sure to make it all the more special.
Disney Plush
Even grown adults love a Disney plush, especially if it is of their favorite character. The regular-size plush can get a little pricey. But there are lots of miniplush available which are just as cute with a cute pricetag to match. Disney recently came out with teeny tiny plush called Wishables that are, as the kids used to say, totes adorbs! And they have holiday versions – so jolly and cute! Even the biggest Scrooge is sure to smile if you give them a Wishable as a stocking stuffer.
Disney Accessories
Seems like if you’re a Disney fan with an Instagram account you gotta rock a pair of mouse ears when at the Disney Parks. They do make a fun gift when there’s now so many variations to choose, and you can find the right one to fit your recipient’s personality. Most of the main merchandise stores in the theme parks have the same variety of mouse ears, but if you’re heading to Epcot there are a few that are inspired by Epcot walls and World Showcase pavilions. Many of these ears, including the latest holiday designs, are available on the Disney Parks Shop online as well.
Specialty and limited-edition MagicBands are another magical stocking stuffer especially if you know your recipient has a Disney trip planned soon. Some limited-edition MagicBands cause special lighting or sound effects when used to enter a Disney park at the turnstiles. These can often be found a the main merchandise shops, the Disney Marketplace Co-Op, and sometimes at the Disney Parks Shop online.
Disney Treats and Snacks
If you’re not sure what to get someone, food solves almost anything. Year-round Disney offers a variety of packaged snacks and treats, like packaged popcorn (and in a variety of flavors), candies, cookies, and other baked goods. Each theme park, and Disney Springs, has a standard Disney candy shop where you can find lots of packaged snacks great for bringing home, and many can be purchased using Disney Dining Plan snack credits. Just avoid anything that is a liquid and be sure to verify any TSA or Customs restrictions in your area. These specialty Disney parks snacks are generally not available online, making them all the more special as a little gift.
Magnets, Key Chains, and Other Impulse Buys
Near most registers and check-out areas you will find display racks with small souvenirs and trinkets like magnets and key-chains. These are definitely great stocking stuffers. If someone on your list is a new homeowner maybe they’d like a cute Disney magnet for their refrigerator or a keychain for their new house keys, or car keys if they’ve recently purchased a car. You can also find small toys like toy cars and figurines near the registers.
Other Tips
- Keep a look out for other fun Disney trinkets and small gifts as you browse the shops. Sometimes its not about the big grand gestures, it’s about the little touches that say “I went to the most magical place on Earth, and I thought of you.”
- Don’t forget about Disney’s Souvenir Pickup service that is free and saves you from lugging around merchandise while you’re enjoy the parks, or their shipping options too.
- If you want to save some dollars, consider venturing to the Disney outlets. Be prepared before you go, and check out our Outlet Reports: it’s quite the excursion.
