The Perch Lobby Bar – Opening Soon! – and Other Grand Floridian Dining Updates
The Grand Floridian Lobby has been undergoing refurbishment for quite a bit now, and it’s starting to emerge from under the tarps and scrims. There’s new carpet, new furniture, and beginning on Monday, November 10, 2025, there’s a brand new lobby bar! Read on for details, including news about the future of the Garden View Lounge, where afternoon tea has been out of commission for several years.
The Perch Opens November 10
The Perch lobby bar will be open for business on Monday. The new lobby bar “celebrates the resort’s Victorian roots through intricate woodwork, elegant herringbone tile, and custom stained glass that shimmers with subtle hues.”

The menu is already up on Disney’s site. There’s no food, but you can get wine by the bottle or glass, a few beer selections, and a couple of signature cocktails, the Floridian 75 (Fords Gin, Florida Citrus Cordial, and Lemon topped with Taittinger ‘La Francaise’ Brut Champagne) and Sunshine State Rum Sazerac (Siesta Key Coffee Rum, Demerara, Absinthe Rinse, Peychaud’s Bitters, and Lemon Essence). Those looking for a zero-proof refresher will find the Blueberry and Basil Iced Tea.

There’s ‘perch’ seating at the lobby bar, but of course you can take your drink to relax on some of the new seating that guests will find in the redone lobby area. Look for the “language of flowers” in the furnishings and carpet throughout the newly redone flagship lobby.

The Garden View Lounge Returns in 2026
Afternoon Tea at the Garden View Lounge used to be a popular way to take a break from the parks, but it hasn’t returned after the pandemic. Along with the announcement about The Perch, Disney shared that the Garden View Lounge, found at the far end of the lobby, will be reopening in 2026. The furniture appears to be a work-in-progress in the image below, but the new decor is clearly extended to this space.

And when the Lounge returns, tea will come with it. Guests of the flagship resort will find the Garden View Lounge serving “a new tea experience with whimsical Disney touches for guests of all ages”.

What a way to cheapen this once magnificent hotel lobby. The live orchestra is long gone. And now we shoehorn into the space a bar to capture the money money money of guests visiting the hotel. Will the Christmas Tree and Gingerbread houses return in their prior glory? What about the chocolate easter eggs?
Disappointing to see another cash grab and reduction in elegance
