Top 3 Non-Character Table Service Resort Breakfasts
You know what they say–breakfast is the most important meal of the day. When it comes to breakfast at Walt Disney World, there’s many options to choose from. Although character buffets are popular–and for good reason–there are also some wonderful options for non-character restaurants. Here’s three of the best.
Boma
Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House has something for everyone, especially at breakfast. Yes, you’ve got your pancakes and Mickey waffles, but you also have wonderful African-inspired options. Bobotie (a meat and egg casserole) is one of my favorites.
Kona Cafe
Tonga. Toast. Without a doubt, this is what most people think of when they think of Kona Cafe breakfast at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. There’s plenty more on the menu worth noting however. From the Macadamia Nut Pancakes to the Moco Loco (and of course a big ol’ glass of POG juice), it’s as close as you can get to breakfast in Hawaii at Walt Disney World.
The Wave
The Wave at Disney’s Contemporary Resort has a wonderful aspect to breakfast–you can either have the breakfast buffet or have an a la carte meal. Either way, make sure to grab a plate of sweet potato pancakes. Once you do, eating “normal” pancakes won’t sound appealing for quite a while. They are that addictive!

The Wave is pretty pathetic lately….Grand Floridian Cafe should be 2nd as it is much better all around than Kona. Kona is a one-trick pony…although it is a mighty tasty pony!
I haven’t been there recently but I really liked breakfast at Trails End at Fort Wilderness. It is a buffet and I thought the food was genuinely good. The setting was relaxed and pleasant.
Just did brunch there recently and I concur.
