Video: Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue Closing Day
The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights may have been the most beloved attraction to close so far in 2016, but it wan’t the only Orlando fan favorite to fold this week. Over at Universal Studios Florida, audiences applauded the Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue closing day cast as the boorish bio-exorcist and his monstrous bandmates went back into their tombs for the last time.
The closing day for Beetlejuice’s Graveyard Revue — also known in its latest incarnation as Beetlejuice’s Graveyard Mash-Up — came on January 5, 2016, which was extended several weeks from the orginally announced ending date by “popular demand.”
For the final day, a special evening performance was added exclusively for annual passholders. Some super-fans lined up before dawn to secure wristbands for the final show, but there were still hundreds available from USF’s Studio Audience Center in mid-afternoon.
I’ve attended the Beetlejuice show scores of times over the years, but rarely have I seen an audience as full and enthusiastic as those attending the last few public performances on January 5.

Even as I was exiting the afternoon show, guests were lining up for the next-to-last-ever performance.
Now that someone has called his name three times, Beetlejuice’s home will be bulldozed to make way for Fast and Furious, which also furlowed Disaster late in 2015. Look for Torretto and his hard-driving team to appear in 2017.
Seth, we are planning a first time trip to Universal this summer. I have your wonderful book (bought it twice, as a matter of fact. Couldn’t find it and then ordered another — so now I have two, since of course I found the first right after I ordered the second!) We thought Beetlejuice would be really fun. Since the book is a 2015 edition, what would you suggest I do for planning a trip with really current information? Is there a special section on this website for updates? Thanks so much! I’m enjoying the book!
