What I Love! Dressed for Magic

Have you had a chance to read any of our 10 prior What I Love posts?!? If not, take a few minutes to catch up and come back to us to read about today’s sweet memory that spans a few years and several sizes.

Today’s post comes to us from Andrea (Liner name gaeliccrew) …

When we took our first family trip to Walt Disney World in 2012, we didn’t know if this was a “one and done” or the start of a tradition that would be a big part of how we would define family vacations now.  Our kiddos were 3 and 11 months and just like many other families, I scoured Etsy for some special items for our trip.  I purchased a Minnie Mouse themed pillow case dress and had my daughter’s name embroidered on it.  I thought she would wear it on our trip and then be able to wear it a few more times when she was able to walk.  I never thought that our new tradition would be that she wears this dress on every trip and now our eight-and-a-half-year-old daughter has worn this dress once on every Disney trip for ten trips!  It’s fun to see the progression of “this dress is way too big” to “this is kind of short for a dress” to “this is a short shirt”!  I’m so glad that I have fun family photos documenting this in our Happy Place!!

From a dress..

To a shirt…

The tradition continues…

What a wonderful idea, Andrea! And what a neat way to have a fixed memory in the middle of a constantly changing park and growing babies. We can’t wait to see what your daughter does with the dress when shes’s able to travel to Walt Disney World as an adult!

If you haven’t had a chance to send in your memory and photos, please submit them to christina@touringplans.com and we will include you in this series.
