What to Expect: Shopping on Disney Cruise Line

We recently gave a rundown on buying drug store items on the Disney Cruise Line ships, but of course there is plenty of less prosaic shopping if you’re in the mood. Here are the type of items you can expect to find in the shops on board the Disney Wonder, Magic, Dream, and Fantasy. You’ll find a noticeably larger selection of items on the Dream and Fantasy, but the same basic categories of items will appear on the Magic and Wonder.

DCL Branded Clothing

Most of the DCL branded clothing is shirts of various forms, for both kids and adults, but there are plenty of other options too. Some items are co-branded with DCL and mainstream brands such as Nike or Tommy Bahama.

Bags and Suitcases

DCL sells practical totes, as well as some items co-branded with names like Kate Spade and Dooney & Bourke.

Towels and Blankets

There is a larger selection of towels available on Castaway Cay, but a few items can be found on the ship itself.

Mugs and Other Dishes

There are some ceramic mugs, but also a good selection of travel mugs and water bottles that can be used poolside or on the beach.

Frames and Other Decor Items

Some items are just there to help you remember your trip once you’re home.

Jewelry and Accessories

There’s some costume jewelry, but also real brands in jewelry and watches. Elsewhere on the ships you can find dedicated Tiffany or Bvlgari stores.

Toys

There are some DCL-themed toys, but also many items related to the latest Disney film releases.

Pirate Merch

Pirate Night is a big deal on many sailings. The ships sell costume elements and other merchandise to help you get in the mood.

Pins and Collectibles

Much like in the parks, there is a large selection of Disney trading pins. Most sailings have an event where you can trade pins with crew members.

Non-Disney Clothing

Ships carry a small selection of non-Disney cruisewear such as Vineyard Vines, Lily Pulitzer, or Tommy Bahama. These items are great if you forget to pack an outfit for Palo, or you want something stylish to walk around port in.

Perfume

Given the size of the shops, there’s a surprisingly large selection of duty-free perfume on board. No need to pack your own when you can grab a sample spritz on your way to the bar for the evening.

  • Where can I order some of that wonderful body bath liquid soap from the cruise? If I remember correctly, it was H20, green in color, sea salt/ocean something. My husband loved it and I’d like to surprise him with some. Thank-you!!
