10 Tips for Solo Disney Cruisers
Have you ever sailed solo with Disney Cruise Line? Disney Cruise Line is a good option for solo travelers, especially Disney fans. It’s a familiar environment, with a welcoming and friendly crew. I have sailed solo before, and I’ve got some tips for you if you’re sailing solo!
1. Know You Won’t Be Alone – Our stats have said that 90% of cruisers are couples or parents and children. That means 10% are solo travelers. That’s a lot of people! Odds are good that there will be quite a few others and you won’t be alone in a sea of families if that concerns you at all.

2. Sail During the School Year if You Can – If you want to minimize the number of kids on your sailing, as some solo travelers do, sail while school is in session. Especially on those long cruises like Panama Canal and Transatlantic which happen during the school year. It’s hard to take kids out of school for those, so there won’t be quite as many.
3. Join the Facebook Group for Your Cruise – If you want to get to know some of your fellow cruisers before you sail, join the Facebook Group for your cruise. There may be activities to join in, and you can keep up with any news or changes easily.
4. Spread Out in Your Stateroom – Even the smallest stateroom will feel spacious when you’re the only one in it! I couldn’t believe how much storage space I had. If you’re looking to save money, this is the perfect time to get the smallest of inside staterooms.

5. Go to the Singles Activities – There are sometimes single meetups onboard. If you’re interested in meeting others, find them on the Navigator and go! Even if you’re the only one, you’ll meet a friendly crew member.
6. Go to Adult-Only Activities – The adult-only activities onboard are a great way to meet people or just enjoy yourself. There are shows at night, game shows, trivia during the day, all kinds of things!
7. Enjoy Dinner in the Main Dining Room – Don’t shy away from dinner in the main dining rooms! You’ll likely be sat with other solos, or couples with no children around your age. We’ve always enjoyed dinner with fellow Sailers.

8. Adult Dining is Excellent as a Solo Traveler – If you want to enjoy an upscale meal with a lot of attention, make sure you book one of the adult dining options. The servers are so attentive. You’ll be sat by yourself unless you want to link up with someone else beforehand.
9. Book Excursions through Disney – I recommend solo travelers book official excursions in ports. It’s always safer to travel with more than one person in a foreign country, and official excursions give you that extra level of security.
10. Find a Group to Sail with – If you want to be assured of meeting others and having planned activities, see if there’s a group that interests you. Maybe a fan group of a blogger or podcast host!
