1988 EPCOT Center
If you can remember camping out in person to buy a $12.50 paper concert ticket at Peaches, this post is for you. Let’s hop in Len’s 1984 powder blue Ford Escort (RIP Biff The Wonder Car) with the one working seat belt and drive to EPCOT with no cell phone, shall we?

First stop? Let’s cash a personal check for $25 and grab some Disney Dollars. Our tickets into the park were nearly $30 each, so we’re on a budget, but we need our cash to be cute. Next, let’s head to Spaceship Earth to rent an RCA Video Camcorder and buy a few rolls of film.

Next up, we’re going to stop at the WorldKey terminals at the base of Spaceship Earth to make our dining reservations. We love L’Originale Alfredo di Roma Ristorante in the Italy Pavilion and don’t want to chance not getting in. Lunch? Let’s have Handwiches at the Farmers Market in The Land or open-faced sandwiches at Kringla Bakeri in Norway. Maybe the Le Cellier Buffeteria? We don’t need reservations there, so let’s just see where we land when we get hungry.
Should we check to see if an EPCOT Segway tour is available for tomorrow?

Time to learn about the future at CommuniCore East! We love the EPCOT Poll Surveys! Have a listen to Episode 305 of The Disney Dish to hear about how the EPCOT Person of the Century survey went wonky. It’s hilarious.

It’s not nap time yet, so let’s save Universe of Energy for after lunch and head to Horizons. How lucky are we that Horizons houses the “world’s largest motion picture screen”??

World of Motion is next and then we’re checking out Captain EO, right? Then we’re playing in the fountains for a hot second before checking out Journey Into Imagination. We can’t linger long at The Image Works, but I’ll make sure we get in a few minutes of fun.

The Land housed the most epic attractions in 1988. Harvest Theater, Kitchen Kabaret, AND Listen to The Land in one building?!?!? We’re spending some serious time here today.
Time to hop in a hydrolator and head to Sea Base Alpha, friends!

How many times are we riding Maelstrom? Two? Three?

I know we just ate, but can we pop into Weinkeller for some wine and cheese? I also need a new straw hat at La Bottega Italiana so I fit in at dinner, but then we can keep moving.

Thank goodness we can have our packages sent to the front of the park, because we have lots of shopping to do on this side of World Showcase! You mentioned wanting to see O Canada! but can we stop in at The Queen’s Table to see if they have the Royal Doulton with the hand painted periwinkles?

We should just get an annual pass, even though they’re around $175 now, because MGM Studios is set to open next spring and it sounds amazing! Pleasure Island also sounds fun but that means we’ll need to pack “going out” clothes when it opens.

Love these tips from Kodak! It’s always nice to rush home and drop my film at Eckard first thing. Can’t wait to see what the pictures look like!
What was your favorite part of our trip? Where do you want to go next?

This was a fun article, thanks for putting it together!
Any chance you could update this article with higher resolution photos, so that we could zoom in on them and actually read them? 🙂 Thanks!
