  • I’m wondering what Jim thinks of Fastpass+ and the way it is being rammed through when there are clearly still so many problems with bookings, linking tickets, and Magicbands. It seems as if the Fastpass+ experience is far less than the legacy Fastpass experience, where people are limited to very few Fastpasses and, in some parks, only one on a ‘major’ ride. Doesn’t this completely negate the entire point of Fastpass, which was to get people out of lines and into the shops and restaurants? Why is Disney so insistent on making this work, despite all of the issues? Is it purely a ‘save face’ thing? It seems like they’ve been fine with pulling projects that didn’t work before. What makes this one different?

Or maybe I’m just wrong and Fastpass+ has been a roaring success, despite all of the complaints in the online communities?

As an aside, I remember going to Disneyland when I was 16 and dancing at Videopolis! I loved it, and thought it was the best idea! I remember being upset that they wouldn’t let me go dance on my own, that I had to have a male partner. I hadn’t brought one with me on my family vacation to California, so I had to try and find a ‘turned away’ boy to dance with. Eventually I was successful, but I’m not sure Disney thought through this idea of helping teenagers ‘pick each other up’! At least now I know why they were so strict on having boy-girl couples dancing. Thanks, Jim! After almost 25 years, it finally makes sense!
