Ahoy, mateys! I’m Heather, and I’ll be bringing you the up and coming on all things Disney Cruise Line. Welcome back again this week. Let’s see what’s new in the DCL world.
Ports of Call
Disney Cruise Line: In The News
In the last few weeks, the Disney Wonder has visited some Southern Caribbean port of call for the first time, like Bonaire. In April, the Wonder will make her way through the Panama Canal to the Pacific, where she’ll stop at beautiful Costa Rica for the first time. From whitewater rafting to ziplining, there are so many amazing adventures to be had in this beautiful country. There’s not many staterooms left on the ship for this 14-night sailing. You can still make this wonderful itinerary your next cruise, but don’t wait!
In case you missed the news last week, Disney Cruise Line announced that both Marvel Day at Sea on the Disney Magic and Star Wars Day at Sea on the Disney Fantasy will return in 2019! These itineraries are already available for booking. Which one would you choose? You cannot go wrong either way!
And finally, this week’s special offers. Most every week of the year, Disney Cruise Line releases special offers for Florida Residents and U.S. Military Personnel. There are also frequently IGT/OGT/VGT rates available for all guests to book. These offers are extremely limited in availability, and all come with certain restrictions, but the prices are amazing! You can book these online, on the phone, or with your travel agent. These are the current offers available this week:
The following films are being shown aboard the Disney Cruise Line ships this month:
- Beauty and the Beast
- Born In China
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
- Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
- Cars 3
- Doctor Strange
- Star Wars: The Force Awakens
- Thor: Ragnarok
- Star Wars: The Last Jedi
- Black Panther – will premier on all four ships on February 16
For future reference, films debut on Disney Cruise Line the same day of their initial release in the United States. Films do vary by ship. Show times are available in your Personal Navigator or the official Disney Cruise Line app.
Captain’s Log: Important Tips and Information
Football fans – how many of you had a moment of panic when you realized you’d be on a cruise ship for the biggest game of the year? Go ahead, you can admit if you did! Now go ahead and take a deep breath, because you will find the Super Bowl on a plethora of screens on each ship!
O’Gills on the Disney Magic and Fantasy, Crown & Fin on the Disney Wonder, and 687 on the Disney Dream will have the game on the many televisions in the pubs. These spaces will just be for those 18 and older during the game. If you want to watch with the whole family on the biggest screen of all, head up to the pool deck, because Funnel Vision will be all about football vision on game night! You will likely even find a gathering in places like the Promenade Lounge.
What’s the Super Bowl without snacks? For some of us, the snacks are the star of the show — there’s no shame there! Again, have no fear — the ships have been known to serve up football favorites, like nachos and wings!
The kids will have their own set of fun waiting for them on game day. Kickoff parties and craft sessions just for kids will be happening in Oceaneer Club, Edge, and Vibe. Offerings may vary by ship, and may be more limited if the Super Bowl also happens to be on your embarkation day. To get an idea of what may be in store for you, check out last year’s game day Personal Navigator from the Disney Wonder, Disney Magic, and Disney Fantasy.
