Ahoy, mateys! I’m Heather, and I’ll be bringing you the up and coming on all things Disney Cruise Line. Welcome back again this week. Let’s see what’s new in the DCL world!
Ports of Call
Disney Cruise Line: In The News
It’s official! The purchase of Lighthouse Point by Disney was signed on March 7. While the development of this property on Eleuthera will be quite a ways from now, when complete it will include areas dedicated to Bahamian vendors of local goods, as well as conservation areas.
The DCL website has been updated with the Port Adventures that will be offered this summer when the Disney Magic visits Brest and Toulon, France. It will be the first time DCL will visit these ports of call.
Here’s this week’s special offers. Most every week of the year, Disney Cruise Line releases special offers for Florida Residents and U.S. Military Personnel. There are also frequently IGT/OGT/VGT rates available for all guests to book. These offers are extremely limited in availability, and all come with certain restrictions, but the prices are amazing! You can book these online, on the phone, or with your travel agent. These are the current offers available this week:
The following films are being shown aboard the Disney Cruise Line ships this month:
- Star Wars: The Last Jedi
- Avengers: Infinity War
- Solo: A Star Wars Story
- Incredibles 2
- Ant-Man and The Wasp
- Christopher Robin
- The Nutcracker and the Four Realms
- Thor: Ragnarok
- Ralph Breaks the Internet
- Mary Poppins Returns
- Captain Marvel
For future reference, films debut on Disney Cruise Line the same day of their initial release in the United States. Films do vary by ship. Show times are available in your Personal Navigator or the official Disney Cruise Line app.
Captain’s Log: Important Tips and Information
Cruising is always a cause to celebrate! Whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, honeymoon, or first cruise, there are a number of gifts and extras you can order to be delivered to your stateroom to start off your cruise in full celebratory style.
You could open the door to your stateroom, all decked out in nautical decorations. Or find a beautiful flower arrangement waiting for you. Send your sweetheart a sweet treat – a customized Mickey-shaped cake, a fruit platter, or even a bottle of bubbly to kick off the fun. Spoil your significant other with luxurious matching robes. If you are cruising during a holiday, there are even options to help celebrate the seasons, including mini Christmas trees and Easter baskets. Want to give the gift that keeps on giving? Add onboard credits to the account of your favorite cruiser. Even if they did, in fact, leave you behind on land.
Options do vary by port, and are available to view on the DCL website. Recently, the deadline for ordering was updated, and you can see the full chart here.
