Ahoy, mateys! I’m Heather, and I’ll be bringing you the up and coming on all things Disney Cruise Line. Welcome back again this week. Let’s see what’s new in the DCL world!

Ports of Call

Disney Cruise Line: In The News

Every day is one day closer to the arrival of the three new ships! We’ve been daydreaming over what we hope they will be like…but Tammy cuts right down to it and discusses what she hopes not to see. Do you agree with her list?

Easter is this Sunday! While this day isn’t celebrated quite as extensively as other holidays are on board, you’ll still find a variety of Easter fun around. Look for special characters (perhaps the White Rabbit), crafts, and a variety of services including Catholic and Interdenominational. Check the Personal Navigator for times and details.

A new line of character merchandise is hitting the gift shops this spring. The Fab 5 are joined by buddies Chip and Dale in this cute collection that includes LoungeFly bags, photo albums, and of course, ear headbands.

Here’s this week’s special offers. Most every week of the year, Disney Cruise Line releases special offers for Florida Residents and U.S. Military Personnel.  There are also frequently IGT/OGT/VGT rates available for all guests to book.  These offers are extremely limited in availability, and all come with certain restrictions, but the prices are amazing! You can book these online, on the phone, or with your travel agent. These are the current offers available this week:

Upcoming Entertainment

The following films are being shown aboard the Disney Cruise Line ships this month:

  • Star Wars: The Last Jedi
  • Avengers: Infinity War
  • Solo: A Star Wars Story
  • Incredibles 2
  • Ant-Man and The Wasp
  • Christopher Robin
  • Coco
  • Thor: Ragnarok
  • Ralph Breaks the Internet
  • Mary Poppins Returns
  • Captain Marvel
  • Dumbo
  • Disneynature: Penguins

For future reference, films debut on Disney Cruise Line the same day of their initial release in the United States. Films do vary by ship. Show times are available in your Personal Navigator or the official Disney Cruise Line app.

Captain’s Log: Important Tips and Information

This spring, Mickey will be welcoming a new captain onboard – Captain Minnie! Our favorite first mate will embark on a new journey, inspiring the next generation of girls in leadership.

Oceaneers will be able to join Captain Minnie in new STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) activities in the Lab. Minnie will be busy visiting guests on land as well, as she’ll make some special appearances in select ports of call.

Always the fashion inspiration, guests can look forward to supporting their girl with a new line of merchandise featuring our new leader’s tagline, “You Can Call Me Captain”. Later this year, a Captain Minnie makeover option will be available at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

Oh, and she’s got herself a crisp new uniform, two of them to be exact! This Captain can opt for a skirt or pants to complete her uniform. But it’s not just about looks; Minnie is here to inspire girls to follow their dreams. Disney Cruise Line will be awarding four scholarships to the LJM Maritime Academy in the Bahamas to girls looking to make a career as a leader at sea.

What do you think about the newest Captain of the Fleet? Tell me in the comments!
