Shopping in the Epcot Countries – Get to Know the America Pavilion
Epcot’s World Showcase countries are a magical entree into the world at large. Even if you can’t get to China or France or Morocco, you can gain some insight into the culture of those places through the attractions, architecture, and food represented in the Epcot pavilions. But let’s face it, one of the key enticements of the World Showcase pavilions is the shopping. Even if you’ll never get to London, you can get souvenirs from the United Kingdom without ever leaving Florida.
For the past few months we’ve been going on a tour of the shopping opportunities in Epcot’s World Showcase countries. This is the last of the 11 countries we’re visiting – the America pavilion.
Bear in mind that the merchandise mix in the parks is constantly changing. While all the photos in these posts were taken in the first half of 2019, it’s quite possible that some of these specific items will be gone by the time you visit. They will, however, give you the flavor of what you can expect to find as you shop around the World Showcase.
I find that the merchandise selection in the USA pavilion is the more variable than that of the other countries. There are usually a few books or documents about historical people or events and plenty of red, white, and blue, but sometimes you’ll walk in and find a display of artisanal pet foods and the next day expensive throw pillows decorated with the state capitals. Expect the unexpected.
Red, White, and Blue
As I mentioned, much of the USA merch is in USA colors. If you need some duds for a July 4th celebration, this is the place to shop.
Food
The America pavilion typically carries a small selection of packaged foods from small- to medium-sized U.S.-based companies. Often these products are regionally popular but don’t have wide distribution across the entire country.
Home Goods
The mix here changes regularly: sometimes it’s kitchenware, sometimes toys, sometimes ornaments.
Tributes to the Presidents or to Historical Documents
They periodically come and go, but often you’ll find replicas of the Declaration of Independence or similar documents. These are great props for when your child needs to dress up like Thomas Jefferson for the school play.
Do you have a favorite item you’ve purchased in Epcot’s USA? Let us know in the comments below.
My favorite thing are the CD’s by the Voices of Liberty.
Do you know how any of this can be purchased if you aren’t in the park? My son would love that top item under Home Goods, but I won’t be at Epcot until the end of September. Thanks!
Some Disney parks items can be purchased on shopDisney.com. But I just looked and that piece is not currently available online. Sorry. Once you’re at WDW you may also want to check the Art of Disney store at Disney Springs. They sometimes have the ability to access Disney art that’s not currently in the shops.
Thank you! I’ll check that store out.
