Halloween Cakes at Amorette’s

Amorette’s Patisserie at Disney Springs is one of our favorite spots for treats in all of Walt Disney World; their cakes are gorgeous and truly delicious.

The Halloween offering this year includes two large cakes and one petite cake.

We we had a small party, so decided to mini-splurge on the petite cake. The petite cakes are the perfect size to share with two or three people who want to share.

The Halloween petite cake consisted of vanilla cake with pumpkin mousse, pecans, and chantilly cream, all enrobed in deep purple fondant with chocolate halloween elements. One word of warning if you decide buy this cake. The chocolate tree is extremely fragile. If you’re not planning to eat the cake on site, I can almost guarantee that it will break in transport. I had one boxed to eat back at a Disney resort. Despite great care taken in all steps of boxing and transportation, the tree was in pieces after a five minute car ride from Disney Springs Lime Garage to Saratoga Springs.

The cake itself it light and fluffy. I normally think of Halloween desserts as being heavy and heavily spiced, but this was airy and delicate, with just a hint of pumpkin with a pleasing balance of crunch from the almonds. This is the perfect flavor palate for Halloween in a steamy place like central Florida.

Which of these cakes would be your kind of treat? Let us know in the comments.
