Disney California Adventure Smokejumpers Grill Review
Smokejumpers Grill is a quick service restaurant located in the Grizzly Peak section of Disney California Adventure. In this post we’ll take a look at the menu, which is mostly comprised of burgers and chicken sandwiches.

The Chipotle BBQ Bacon Double Cheeseburger is a big pile of food. Priced at $17.29, it includes two beef patties, provolone, bacon, lettuce, pickles, onion rings and chipotle BBQ Sauce. At its core this is a standard theme park burger, meaning it’s neither good or bad. However, if you’re going to buy a overpriced theme park burger, it may as well have a bunch of extra junk on it.

The Chipotle BBQ Bacon Double Cheeseburger, and all the other burgers and sandwiches at Smokejumpers, include fries. Onion rings can be swapped out for fries for an extra $1, or ordered on their own for $5.79. The onion rings are crispy and worth paying the extra buck for.

The Spicy Chicken Sandwich includes hand-breaded chicken, spicy chipotle sauce, lettuce, pickles and served with fries. The chicken was dry and bland. I’d avoid this and get the Grilled Chicken Sandwich instead.
Fried Pickles with a side of buffalo ranch are also available for $5.79. They’re crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I’m a big fan of these and I wish more places in Disneyland Resort had this as an option.
Smokejumpers has a couple of great items for breakfast, including the Classic Breakfast Burrito for $14.99. Inside the burrito you’ll find sausage, bacon, egg, cheddar and hash Browns with molcajete salsa. It’s wonderful, filling, and I wish they served it all day.
One thing to note here is Disney changed out the fantastic crinkle cut fries for standard fries. Booooo!

It wouldn’t be a Disney quick service restaurant without a ultra-sugary cold brew drink. The BearPaw Basin Cold Brew ($7.79) is comprised of pecan cold brew, salted maple cold foam, caramel drizzle and waffle pieces. It’s very sweet, but that may be exactly what you want after all the rest of the fried food at Smokejumpers.

A smokejumper is a firefighter who parachutes in to wildfires in remote locations (I’m not going to lie, I had to look that up). Along with all the smokejumpers gear, vintage vacation photos and Disney True Adventure posters adorn the walls. There’s even bulletin boards with letters from children thanking the smokejumpers for their bravery.
A great detail that is noticeable inside Smokejumpers Grill is the quality of the decor. Everything looks “lived in,” as if this actually could be an outpost you would find in the middle of nowhere.

Thanks for the review. When I saw the menu, it looked too similar to Taste Pilot’s, so I don’t think I will be eating here.
Now I need you to convince DCA to fix Paradise Garden Grill. Now that Smokejumpers has burgers, Paradise Garden Grill can go back to the skewers.
I miss the ribs!! 🙁
I think the burgers here are actually really good. Can’t say I’ve tried a McDonalds burger in the US, but I can’t imagine they taste this good. Especially when you can add heaps of fresh lettuce, tomatoes and other toppings. The grilled chicken burger is my favorite at Disneyland! I was worried they would change the burgers. Glad to hear they haven’t.
Hate to complain, but the “hangar” decor looks like laziness disguised behind a pretext, i.e., “what theme would justify using low-end materials like exposed corrugated metal?” If the menu was a hit, I’m sure I wouldn’t notice that. I’m disappointed they didn’t pick up a smoked theme with the menu: smoked brisket, pulled pork, smoked chicken wings, or something. The menu is an absolute turn-off to me. Many better options at DCA.
