Updated Port Orleans Riverside Room View Photos
Disney landscapers have trimmed back many of the trees in front of the Magnolia Terrace building (#85) at Port Orleans Riverside, allowing for better river views from upper-floor rooms. Our photographers swung by for quick stay last week, and get updated photos for our hotel room view database.
Here’s the view from room 8916 before the trimming:
And here’s the view after:
It’s a much better view, and they’ve kept the lovely Magnolia trees around the sides.
The photographers are making their way around Walt Disney World this summer, updating room photos for the Polynesian, BoardWalk Inn Villas, and more.
Thanks to our friend Andre Wiley of PortOrleans.org for the tip about the maintenance!
And those rooms in the central section of building 85 are still technically classed as Garden View (yes, even the one in the new photo above) so they are a great location to request. Better than many real River View rooms in fact, and also not too long a walk over to the main buildings via Ol’ Man Island.

Interesting, I just booked a garden view room after checking your photos of “river view” rooms and found that too many of them actually had views of trees. Well, I think I’ll stick with the garden view room, but it’s nice to see your updates.
Is that a trim or a chop? It looks like they’ve removed some of the trees.
I think they removed a handful of trees near the front, perhaps as few as 2 to 4.
