Casual Date Night Idea – Pizza Ponte at Disney Springs
With so many dining options at Disney Springs it can be easy to overlook a few spots. Pizza Ponte is one of those places that tends to fly under the radar. This casual pizzeria is a part of the Maria and Enzo’s Ristronte and Maria and Enzo’s Hideaway building. Here you’ll find the biggest slices of pizza anywhere on Disney property, as well as a variety of quick, but delicious Italian inspired fare, desserts, and drinks. With outdoor seating and a lovely dining room, it’s a great idea for a casual date night or family dinner.
The design of the building in which Pizza Ponte, Maria and Enzo’s Ristorante, and Hideaway are located is a little awkward. This venue sits at the top of the hill at the edge of The Landing and the entrances to each venue are not entirely clear to the average passerby. It is never busy inside Pizza Ponte despite being a quality option.
The slices of pizza are generous, though the price does match the size — averaging $7 – $8 per slice. There’s simple varieties of traditional slices of pizza as well as hearty Sicilian style with thick crust and rustic toppings. The canned and bottled drink selection is plentiful, offering soft drinks as well as beer, hard seltzer, and wine. There’s also grab and go salads, and some nice sandwich options. If your hotel is in the Disney Springs area, or you at one of the nearby Disney Vacation Club Resorts, this is a great choice for stocking up on some high quality snacks and lunch options.
Chrissy on our team likes to stop here with her family anytime she’s at Disney Springs conducting research and they are approaching hangry with no set dinner plans. Families will benefit from the quick service and variety. Couples will enjoy the view at dusk which is just beautiful.
If you dine outside you’re close enough to the live entertainment in from the AMC Theater, near the Coca-Cola Store, to hear the music, but not be overwhelmed by the volume. You can sit and watch the Aerophile balloon and savor the lakeside views. On cooler nights there are outdoor heaters. It’s a lovely little spot. The inside dining room is bright and inspired by 1930s travel. The entire building is meant to resemble a 1930s airport, as everything in Disney Springs has a story.
Pizza Ponte has earned an 87% thumbs up rating and is ranked #63 out of 107 quick service options at Walt Disney World. The value is poor which is what holds it back. If atmosphere and overall experience is important to you then this is a good choice. Otherwise, Blaze Pizza across the springs water is a better choice for value. You could have the best of both worlds and grab your pizza from Blaze, but your dessert from Pizza Ponte.
