Celebrate Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s 20th Anniversary During Party for the Planet Event
It’s hard to believe that Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be 20 years old this year! To celebrate the anniversary, which happens in April 22, the Walt Disney World resort will be holding an expanded two-week Party for the Planet event, from April 22 through May 5!
Party for the Planet will feature six different Tiffins Talks. These will be themed dinners hosted by animal experts at the signature restaurant, Tiffins. During each meal, Guests who want to learn more about Disney’s efforts to reverse the decline of at-risk species around the world will be able to learn from the best of the best. During the anniversary year, Rafiki’s Planet Watch will take center stage with backstage experiences with experts. Here Guests can learn about animal nutrition, visit the veterinary hospital and hear how Disney promotes global wildlife conservation.
In addition, Guests can also commemorate their visits to the theme park with special photo opportunities by taking pics with over-sized frames celebrating the park’s 20th anniversary.
Looking for a special treat? Enjoy Earth Day and Tree of Life cupcakes at Creature Comforts, Pizzafari, Flame Tree Barbecue and Restaurantosaurus. There will also be a delicious plant-based Impossible Burger that is on the menu at Restaurantosaurus, and Earth Day Sliders (mini Impossible Burgers) are available in Nomad Lounge.
For the kiddos, there will be a special Wilderness Explorers badge! This will be limited-edition and is available by completing activities throughout the park. There will also be the opportunity to participate in face painting.
The 20th anniversary fun also includes a commemorative adventure guide, limited-edition merchandise, and a special-edition print created by Imagineer Joe Rohde who will be available on April 22 from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. to sign prints at Discovery Trading Company. Quantities are limited. Speaking of merchandise, there will be also be special conservation-savvy vendors selling unique items throughout Party for the Planet.
