Cheers to Cheese, an exhibit all about cheese, opened today inside CommuniCore Hall as part of EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival.

Cheese History at CommuniCore Hall

If you’re taking the kids out of school to visit Walt Disney World, you’ll want to arm those suckers with some new knowledge to take back to class. Start with prehistoric cheese facts, maybe?

Punny Cheese Facts

Before you try the Crab and Corn Macaroni and Cheese at the Wedge, and you absolutely should try it, learn how milk becomes cheese!

There are lots of cute cheese-themed tables scattered around CommuniCore Hall where you can eat, get out of the heat, and discuss your new cheese knowledge.

Cheese Poll at Cheers to Cheese

Who among us doesn’t wax on when questioned about our cheese preferences?!? If you’re looking for an opportunity to express your cheese opinions, check out the Cheese of the Day sliding poll inside Cheers for Cheese. The only failure we see is that “Blue” had zero votes when we stopped by just after opening. We’re hoping things turn around later this evening.

Perfect Pairings at Cheers for Cheese

Now this is education!! Making new foods interesting is a whole parenting win if you ask us. Len has been sending his niece, Gigi, a Murray’s Cheese box of 3 cheeses every month for many years. Having a child explore cheese knowledge ~ what they like, what they don’t, what pairs well with what ~ is a great way to make food exploration a part of life. Now Gigi has very expensive taste in cheese that her mother cannot afford, but that’s a whole other matter. The child has Stilton preferences and can smell the age of a Gouda at 50 paces. Small wins in education are still wins.

This exhibit is a little like a very well done science fair project, but there are bits (crumbles? blocks? shards?) of fun and lots of seating in the air conditioning, so we definitely recommend you stop by!
