Disney Cruise Line has released a raft of new details about its biggest ship yet – the Disney Adventure. The Adventure will have areas themed to Disney, Pixar, and Marvel brands, with a focus on immersive experiences and entertainment. The rundown below includes previously available information, plus everything that was announced this week.

Formerly known as the Global Dream, this ship was purchased by DCL in late 2022 when its original owner, Genting Hong Kong filed for bankruptcy. Our friend Scott Sanders of the DCL Blog has a good rundown of that situation.

This ship is significantly larger than the other Disney Cruise Line vessels, with a capacity of about 6,700 guests. As a point of comparison, the Disney Dream, Fantasy, and Wish all have a guest capacity of about 4,000 guests.

The Adventure will be based in Asia, sailing primarily three and four-night itineraries from Singapore with only dedicated days at sea. Her maiden voyage is Dec. 15, 2025. Bookings open to all guests on Dec. 10, 2024. Details on pricing and itineraries will be released on Nov. 14, 2024.

Overview of the Disney Adventure

Guests will enjoy daily activities, entertainment, and dining in one of seven themed areas of the ship. Rotational dining will be available in seven restaurants at dinner time. You can look for the high-quality entertainment that you’ve come to expect in the ship’s theaters. And at night they’ll tuck away to bed in comfortable and well-appointed staterooms imbued with the spirit of favorite movies from Disney Animation, Pixar, and Marvel.

Kids Clubs

For guests ages 3-10, the Oceaneer Club will feature immersive spaces designed with exploration and discovery in mind. Spaces will host activities ranging from storytelling to arts and crafts, games, dress-up, and of course meeting favorite Disney characters.

  • The Hub: At the center of Disney’s Oceaneer Club, The Hub will serve as a portal to the other areas in the space.
  • Fairytale Hall: inspired by Disney princesses, of course!
  • Andy’s Toy Box: an oversized playground with lots of interactive props and gadgets
  • Marvel WEB Workshop: check out the top-secrete Avengers technology through training simulations
  • Walt Disney Imagineering Lab: hands-on activities and creative experiments, including designing and virtually riding their own rollercoaster.
  • Mickey and Minnie Captain’s Deck: aimed squarely at toddlers and tiny cruisers, this playground focuses on physical and sensory activities

For guests aged 6 months to 3 years, it’s a small world nursery will offer babysitting services for a nominal fee.

Teens aged 14 to 17 will find their haven at Vibe, and tweens 11 to 14 can check into the clubhouse at Edge to make friends and hang out.

Adults-only Spaces

The spa will offer private treatment rooms and a salon for a range of treatments that includes massages, facials, acupuncture, haircare, and more. The Rainforest area combines steam, heat, and water therapy with aromatherapy for a signature spa experience. The spa will be available for adults and those 13 and older when accompanied by an adult.

Guests will also find a Fitness Center with state-of-the-art exercise facilities, a juice bar, wellness consultations, a bookable meditation room, and dedicated spaces for activities such as cycling and yoga. The fitness center will be available for adults and those 14 and older when accompanied by an adult.

Palo Trattoria, one of the ship’s upscale upcharge dining locations, will be reserved exclusively for adults.

Disney Adventure Themed Areas

The Disney Adventure will be home to seven themed areas bustling with activities, entertainment, and dining.

Imagination Garden

In the Disney Imagination Garden, journey through an enchanted valley inspired by more than 100 years of heroic and heartwarming Disney stories – from Mowgli exploring the jungle to Moana taming the high seas. This imaginative gathering space will also be home to dazzling performances on an open-air stage.

This open-air interior space will be a central hub of the ship, featuring a theatrical stage, two quick-service dining locations, and a bar. Overlooking Garden View staterooms will feature a verandah with views of the Garden.

Decorative foliage of flowers, topiaries, trees, and cascading vines will bring the greenery and trellises to this garden area, where guests will also be able to find a mix of popular characters and easter eggs from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel stories. The Garden Stage takes center stage (see what we did there?) at one end of the space, with a large open “lawn” area and a large staircase creating amphitheater-style seating for performances.

At the other end of the garden, the stairs lead up to a courtyard with seating under the trees and a view of Disney’s first ever “Castle at Sea”. The artwork is inspired by castles from Disney stories and its existing theme parks across the globe, including the Walt Disney Pictures castle, Disneyland Paris’ Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, and sketches from legendary Disney artists. At the feet of the three-story artwork, guests will find a decorative waterfall surrounded by a wave motif.

Imagination Garden Dining

Guests can dine indoor or out alongside the Imagination Garden at their choice of two Quick-Service eateries. Both patios will offer a view of the Garden Stage to take in the day’s entertainment lineup.

Mowgli’s Eatery will be inspired by  Mowgli’s journey in “The Jungle Book”. Guests can enjoy Indian cuisine, with vegetarian and regional dishes that will be given a special Disney twist. Those choosing to dine at Gramma Tala’s Kitchen will be treated to the scenery and island vibes of “Moana”, as they make selections from a menu that highlights flavors found throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Imagination Garden Entertainment

New signature shows will be coming to the Garden Stage, including Avengers Assemble! This show offers guests a first-hand look at the powers of Marvel greats such as Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Thor, Black Panther, The Scarlet Witch, Ms. Marvel, Loki, Red Skull, Taskmaster and more. And, it will feature everyone’s favorite merc-with-a-mouth Deadpool in his Disney Cruise Line debut! Good vs. evil is on the line and Disney wants you to be on the edge of your seat with the Garden Stage’s three-deck-high LED screens, special effects, and cutting-edge theatrical features. Other shows in the lineup:

  • Let’s Set Sail, a high energy embarkation-day dance party
  • Captain Jack Sparrow & the Siren Queen
  • Mickey’s Color Spin Dance Party
  • Baymax Super Exercise Expo

Discovery Reef

At Discovery Reef, travel down to the ocean floor to explore the nautical worlds of “The Little Mermaid,” “Lilo & Stitch,” “Finding Nemo” and “Luca” complete with uniquely themed shopping and dining options.

Discovery Reef will be a hub area located toward the back of the ship, open to the sky seven decks above. The surroundings will celebrate the relationship between water and sky, with the rich, striking colors of a vibrant coral reef. Lightning will change the mood of Discovery Reef as the day progresses, with soft sunlight filtered through colored glass canopies during the day, and theatrical lighting to create an otherworldly effect at night. Select surrounding staterooms will have views of Discovery Reef.

Discovery Reef Dining

You’ll find a variety of Quick-Service restaurants within Discovery Reef and also in an adjacent gateway area leading to Wayfinder Bay. In Discovery reef itself, Stitch’s ‘Ohana Grill will serve a classic American menu of burgers and sandwiches amid laid-back decor inspired by Hawaii’s North Shore surf culture. Bewitching Boba and Brews celebrates Ursula, the sea witch from “The Little Mermaid”. You’ll find bubble teas and more alongside vibrant pop art and bright neon lighting in the sea witch’s signature colors. Last but not least, Cosmic Kebabs is inspired by Ms. Marvel, and will have pitas and kebabs on the menu.

Moving into the seaside village area, the area is inspired by the seaside Italian town of Portorosso in “Luca”. Guests will find Palo Trattoria, Mike & Sulley’s – Flavors of Asia, Palo Cafe, and Taverna Portorosso. Palo Trattoria and Mike & Sulley’s are upcharge dining venues that will be available by reservation. On the cobblestone patio of Palo Trattoria, Palo Cafe will serve coffee and light bites throughout the day. Just above on an open-air balcony, Taverna Portorosso will be an intimate sports bar.

San Fransokyo Street

San Fransokyo Street, inspired by the expansive world of “Big Hero 6,” will be a bustling family entertainment area. Look for interactive games and activities, shops, cinemas, and a Baymax Meet & Greet.

At the Big Hero Arcade, guests will find an assortment of arcade games, and groups of four can dash, dart, and dodge their way across a high-tech gaming floor in the Hiro Training Zone, an immersive simulator. Baymax Cinemas will feature Disney, Pixar, and Marvel films on 4 different screens. And teens and tweens will find the entrances to Vibe and Edge here, disguised as “Vibe Records” and “Edge of the Bay Cafe” storefronts.

Marvel Landing

Marvel Landing will see heroes unite for Avengers-level adventures featuring thrilling rides and all-new experiences. Sign up for an Avengers-level adventure with three all-new attractions on the upper deck of the ship. Look for signature Stark-itecture style (Disney’s words, not ours) with colorful displays featuring Iron Man, Spider-Man, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and more of your favorite Super Heroes. Plus, a roller coaster!

Marvel Landing © Disney

On Ironcycle Test Run, guests can ride the first rollercoaster on a Disney ship (it’s also the longest at sea at over 820 feet) as they take Tony Stark’s latest Ironcycle prototype for a test drive. Take a seat in one of the red-and-gold two-seater ride vehicles and prepare to receive a driving lesson from Tony Stark’s virtual assistant F.R.I.D.A.Y.

On Pym Quantum Racers, guests can seat themselves behind the wheel of cars that have been outsized by Pym tech from “The Ant-Man”. They’ll whiz around a full-scale toy set track, recreating the car chase scene from “The Ant-Man and The Wasp”.

For those who want to ride with the Guardians, the Adventure offers Groot Galaxy Spin. Fly a Nova Corp Bass Jumper; riders will lift and drop their vehicles as they spin, accompanied by a mixtape of classics with Groot as the DJ.

Finally, for those who just want to keep their feet on the ground, guests can relax at Infinity Pool & Bar. This area on the back of the ship features panoramic ocean views to bring your adrenaline down, along with snacks and refreshments to refuel.

Toy Story Place

Sharing the upper decks with Marvel Landing, Toy Story Place will provide a whimsical and interactive water play zone designed for families with young children. The world of Pixar’s “Toy Story” will come to life as little ones choose between playful water features including a large family pool, multiple whirlpools, water slides, and interactive splash pads.

For tots, the Toy Story Splash Pad sees pop jets, geysers, and bubblers fill an area with Toy Story characters reimagined as rubber bath toys. At a larger splash zone, families can play together on a giant Pizza Planet toy set which includes more pop jets as well as mini slides. And the bright red and yellow Woody and Jessie’s Wild Slides offer even more water adventures.

The larger-than-life toy land will also be an entertainment hub, hosting outdoor screenings of Disney movies, trivia, and more. Quick-Service dining from service windows like pizza from Pizza Planet and soft-serve from Wheezy’s Freezies will be here, and the Pixar Market restaurant will be located nearby.

Wayfinder Bay

At Wayfinder Bay, you’ll be called by “the line where the sky meets the sea” to a poolside retreat reflecting the Pacific Islands-inspired artistry of “Moana” with some of the most stunning views aboard the Disney Adventure.

Located at the back of the ship, this pool-focused area offers plush seating, amazing sea-and-sky views, and the Voyager Bar to make sure guests can stay hydrated in the sun. A jumbo LED screen adjacent to the wading pool will double as a performance venue for live shows and interactive events, including  “Moana: Call of the Sea,” a musical retelling of Moana’s quest to restore the heart of Te Fiti.

Town Square

Venture into the enchanted Town Square — a fantastical forest filled with shops, lounges, cafes, restaurants and entertainment venues inspired by the magical kingdoms from “Tangled,” “Cinderella,” “Frozen,” “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “The Princess and the Frog” and more. A statue of Snow White will be the focal point.

The forest-themed setting will be a central access point to many of the ship’s activities, including rotational dining restaurants, the D-Lounge, and the Walt Disney Theater.

Disney Adventure Staterooms

A variety of stateroom categories and configurations will meet the needs of travelers with the family-friendly conveniences and Disney touches that cruisers have come to expect from Disney Cruise Line.

Most main staterooms will have DCL’s signature split-room bathrooms, with a sink and shower in one room and a sink and toilet in another. This family-friendly setup lets two people get ready at once in the morning. Elevated bed frames will provide under-bed space for suitcase storage.

Stateroom categories will include both inside and oceanview rooms. Premium garden view and reef view staterooms will overlook either Disney Imagination Garden or Disney Discovery Reef, allowing guests look out over the day’s activities and entertainment. Oceanview staterooms will be available with and without verandahs. Select inside and oceanview staterooms will be set up with four single beds to serve groups of friends traveling together.

Concierge Staterooms

The main Concierge Family Staterooms will feature a primary living space, a secondary bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and private entrance, and many offer a spacious extended verandah. These staterooms will be themed to the world of Asgard in Marvel Studios’ “Thor” films, or to the Sultan’s Palace from “Aladdin”. A selection of staterooms at the back of the ship will be themed to “Moana” and have extended verandahs for views of the ocean and the open oasis of Wayfinder Bay.

Concierge Suites will offer ocean views with modern open-concept designs and one-bedroom layouts. These staterooms, themed to “Aladdin,” “The Little Mermaid,” and “The Avengers.”, will accommodate at least five guests with dedicated areas for lounging, dining, and sleeping.

For the ultimate concierge suite experience, two Concierge Royal Suites will have a living room, dining area with a bar, large main bedroom, kids’ room with bunk beds, two ensuite bathrooms, and an extended verandah with a private whirlpool. The Elsa Royal Suite will be a themed celebration of Elsa’s legendary ice magic, portrayed by icy light fixtures, snowflake patterns, and a base palette featuring soft blues. The Anna Royal Suite will bring an Arendelle summer to life, a warm space with deep greens, rich wood tones, and purple accents. Each Royal Suite will be neighbor to a connecting one-bedroom sister suite which can be booked separately or together with the Royal Suite for larger groups.

Concierge Spaces

The Concierge Lounge will be inspired by Disney Animation’s “Aladdin”, including a seating area with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the sea. Above, you’ll find a large pool and whirlpools plus an outdoor wellness area on a private sundeck.

One deck above, the adjoining private sundeck will be a lavish oasis at the front of the ship boasting stunning ocean views, plush loungers, a large pool, and whirlpools, plus an outdoor wellness area with shade-covered treatment beds and a yoga space.

In addition to the spa that’s available for all adults, concierge guests will have exclusive access to the Concierge Spa. The spa adjoins an exercise and yoga facility that are also reserved for concierge guests. Two spa suites are designed for large groups to relax together, enjoying indoor/outdoor lounge areas with ocean views and more. Guests can choose to reserve either the Practically Perfect Spa Suite, inspired by Disney’s “Mary Poppins,” or the Hopps Haven Spa Suite, inspired by Disney’s “Zootopia.”

Dining on the Disney Adventure

Dinnertime on the Disney Adventure will offer rotational dining, where guests will have three different Disney dining experiences based on a preset schedule. The dining party’s dedicated service team will move with them from venue to venue as the voyage progresses. Each guest will enjoy an experience at one of the two entertainment restaurants, one of the two “magically animated” restaurants, and one of the three other venues.

Entertainment Restaurants

Hollywood Spotlight Club © Disney

Entertainment restaurants will offer signature entertainment alongside the meal, with appearances and interactions with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck. The Navigator’s Club will honor the prestigious maritime tradition of exclusive “captain’s table” dinners, while the Hollywood Spotlight Club will evoke the glitz and glamour of the golden age of Hollywood.

Magically Animated Restaurants

Two restaurants will offer guests the opportunity to see their own drawings come to life alongside famous characters and parade through an on-screen animated finale in the dining room. These restaurants celebrate the art and artistry of Disney and Pixar animated films, and join similar “magically animated” restaurants on the other Disney ships. Animator’s Palate will be adorned with film strips and props from favorite movies such as Disney Animation’s “The Little Mermaid” and “Encanto” and Pixar’s “Toy Story.” Animator’s Table will feature authentic artwork from iconic films such as Disney Animation’s “Aladdin” and “Frozen” and Pixar’s “Finding Nemo,” showcasing the process of transforming a hand-drawn sketch into living animation.

Other Restaurants

Enchanted Summer Restaurant © Disney

Enchanted Summer Restaurant and Pixar Market Restaurant will serve buffet fare at breakfast and lunch, before switching over to table-service at dinner time. Enchanted Summer Restaurant will be a cozy village dining hall with two separate dining areas inspired by Disney Animation’s “Tangled” and “Frozen.”

Pixar Market Restaurant in Toy Story place will celebrate Pixar films, with individual areas themed to “Inside Out,” “Monsters University,” “Turning Red,” “The Incredibles,” and more.

Premium Dining

In addition to the rotational dining restaurants, guests can enjoy one of two upcharge restaurants for dinner, available by reservation.

Palo Trattoria will offer upscale Italian with exceptional wines and fantastic service. Guests will step into a celestial dream sequence from “Luca” as they dine on pastas, pizzas, seafood, steaks and more, along with a selection of the finest Italian wines and bold craft beers.

At Mike & Sulley’s – Flavors of Asia, guests can choose from four experiences: a full-service Japanese steakhouse, a lively teppanyaki room, a chic bar with Omakase-style dining, and outdoor sushi and sashimi offerings. If that sounds like the Japanese-style eatery from “Monsters Inc.”, there’s a reason for that, and you’ll find the design features nods to the film and characters.

  • Not going to lie. This looks like a homerun of a retheme based on a preexisting ship design.

    • Gotta agree! It’s interesting that they’ve brought back the buffet at breakfast/lunch switch to table-service at dinner concept but the restaurants are officially part of the rotation.
