Disney Announces Plans for Epcot’s 30th!
It has been speculated for a while whether or not Disney was going to recognize Epcot’s 30th Anniversary, and now that speculation is over. On October 1, 2012, Epcot will offer a few special events, just for the momentous day.
First, courtesy of D23, guests will be able to attend select presentations in World Showplace, a special events building located behind the Canada and United Kingdom Pavilions. These events will be included in park admission; however, seating will be limited.
- 1-2 pm – Designing the Future – Past and Present: A panel of Disney Imagineers remembers 30 years of building tomorrow!
- 4:30–6 pm – Epcot: How it Changed the World with Marty Sklar
- 6:30–8 pm – Epcot: How it Changed the World with Marty Sklar
Also, at 3 pm, an anniversary moment will take place at the America Gardens Theatre. This event is slated to feature performances by Mariachi Cobre and Voices of Liberty, as well as appearances by Disney leaders. Seating is limited here, as well.
Finally, IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth will light up the sky at 9 pm, followed by a special 30th Anniversary tag.
For those who will be in Epcot on its 30th Anniversary, it looks like it’s going to be a fun day!
I really wish they would have had some type of extended 30th anniversary for EPCOT. We can’t go during school and will miss out on it.
This looks like an amazing day not sure if I am gonna be able to make it we were just there this past weekend and well I love Disney!
We were going to be there on Oct 1 regardless of planned events or not, so this is a nice addition. Can’t wait for the Illuminations tag!!!
Seems like a lot of people are going down there that weekend. Is Touring Plans having any meets…maybe one with Tegquila ::wink, wink::?
