Ahoy, mateys! I’m Heather, and I’ll be bringing you the up and coming on all things Disney Cruise Line. Welcome back again this week. Let’s see what’s new in the DCL world!

Well, some expected but still disappointing cancellations were announced yesterday. Unfortunately, the European cruise season for the Disney Magic is not to be this year. All sailing through October 3 have been cancelled. Here are the cruises included in this cancellation period:

  • August 5, 2020 – 8-night Northern Europe
  • August 13, 2020 – 7-night Northern Europe
  • August 20, 2020 – 10-night Northern Europe
  • August 30, 2020 – 7-night Norwegian Fjords
  • September 6, 2020 – 7-night British Isles
  • September 13, 2020 – 5-night Western Europe
  • October 2, 2020 – 10-night Westbound Transatlantic

You may have noticed that gap between the September 13 and October 2 cruises – that’s when the Disney Magic is expected to be in dry dock. She’s expected to be in New York on October 12, which would be the next bookable Magic cruise. Fingers crossed that will truly be her next sailing – a half a year without guests is a long time!

With this latest round of cancellations, here is the current list of when each ship is currently expected to sail again:
Disney Magic – October 12, 2020 (5-night Bermuda)
Disney Wonder – September 18, 2020 (5-night Baja)
Disney Dream – July 13, 2020 (4-night Bahamas)
Disney Fantasy – August 1, 2020 (7-night Western Caribbean)

Whenever the fleet does finally begin to welcome guests once again, we know that the DCL experience we’ve grown accustomed to is certainly going to look different in a lot of areas. Tammy has put together a list of 10 things she expects to change when cruising restarts. What do you think? Are you ready to jump right back in with any and all possible changes, or are you planning to wait to see how things shape up? Tell me in the comments!

Thanks for joining me again this week. “Sea” you next time!
