Ahoy, mateys! I’m Heather, and I’ll be bringing you the up and coming on all things Disney Cruise Line. Welcome back again this week. Let’s see what’s new in the DCL world!

Ports of Call

Disney Cruise Line: In The News

When DCL updated their onboard gift shopping website back in the spring, a reservation number was necessary to view the available gifts. Thankfully (and possibly in the name of increasing the likelihood to shop?) there’s been a new update, and now you can online window shop til you drop before needing that ever important reservation number for purchasing!

Are you on Facebook? Well, if you are, there’s a cruise group waiting there for you for just about each and every sailing out there! Never joined? Not sure what it’s all about? Tammy has all the scoop on the groups – check it out here!

Here’s this week’s special offers. Most every week of the year, Disney Cruise Line releases special offers for Florida Residents and U.S. Military Personnel.  There are also frequently IGT/OGT/VGT rates available for all guests to book.  These offers are extremely limited in availability, and all come with certain restrictions, but the prices are amazing! You can book these online, on the phone, or with your travel agent. These are the current offers available this week:

Upcoming Entertainment

The following films are being shown aboard the Disney Cruise Line ships this month:

  • Captain Marvel
  • Dumbo
  • Disneynature: Penguins
  • Avengers: Endgame
  • Aladdin
  • Toy Story 4
  • Lion King
  • The Nightmare Before Christmas

For future reference, films debut on Disney Cruise Line the same day of their initial release in the United States. Films do vary by ship. Show times are available in your Personal Navigator or the official Disney Cruise Line app.

Captain’s Log: Important Tips and Information

Early 2021 itineraries were released yesterday!! I love the excitement of release day – and playing the game of getting out the calendar to see which one of these beauties I can make official. The early 2021 release admittedly wasn’t the most exciting of them all – there wasn’t much new besides the addition of two new ports for the Disney Wonder – Protego, Mexico, and beautiful Catalina Island. The Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy will continue to sail out of Port Canaveral. The Disney Magic will spend her time in Miami. The Disney Wonder will get the most action – starting 2021 in Galveston, moving over to New Orleans, and then heading west to sail out of San Diego.

If you have a placeholder that will still be eligible for use during these dates (keeping in mind that placeholders are only good for 24 months from the time they are originally booked), there are a few things to remember. Placeholders cannot be moved to official dates online – this can only be done on the phone. Additionally, there are some blackout dates that your placeholder cannot be used, including the following:
March 27, 2021 Disney Fantasy
March 28, 2021 Disney Wonder
March 29, 2021 Disney Magic
April 2, 2021 Disney Dream
April 2, 2021 Disney Wonder
April 3, 2021 Disney Fantasy
April 3, 2021 Disney Magic
April 5, 2021 Disney Dream

Booking starts Monday 9/30 for Platinum Castaway Club members, and then continues on Tuesday 10/1 for Gold, Wednesday 10/2 for Silver, and Thursday 10/3 for first timers! If you haven’t sailed, but have other Disney affiliations, you may be eligible for early booking access. Golden Oak residents can book on Monday, and Disney Vacation Club member and Adventures by Disney insiders can book on Wednesday.

Are you booking any of the 2021 itineraries? Not sure which to pick? Check out the different ports of call to help find what suits you best!
