Ahoy, mateys! I’m Heather, and I’ll be bringing you the up and coming on all things Disney Cruise Line. Welcome back again this week. Let’s see what’s new in the DCL world!
Ports of Call
Disney Cruise Line: In The News
It’s nearly official! The Bahamian government has approved Disney’s purchase of the Lighthouse Point. There are more steps in the process until this is finalized, but it’s looking like we’ll have a new Bahamian paradise to look forward to in the coming years!
Each ship offers Broadway-caliber shows that do not disappoint. Disney Parks Blog is highlighting the nine original shows you can find across the fleet. Which is your favorite?
Here’s this week’s special offers. Most every week of the year, Disney Cruise Line releases special offers for Florida Residents and U.S. Military Personnel. There are also frequently IGT/OGT/VGT rates available for all guests to book. These offers are extremely limited in availability, and all come with certain restrictions, but the prices are amazing! You can book these online, on the phone, or with your travel agent. These are the current offers available this week:
Upcoming Entertainment
The following films are being shown aboard the Disney Cruise Line ships this month:
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
- Star Wars: The Last Jedi
- Black Panther
- A Wrinkle In Time
- Avengers: Infinity War
- Solo: A Star Wars Story
- Incredibles 2
- Ant-Man and The Wasp
- Christopher Robin
For future reference, films debut on Disney Cruise Line the same day of their initial release in the United States. Films do vary by ship. Show times are available in your Personal Navigator or the official Disney Cruise Line app.
Captain’s Log: Important Tips and Information
One of the most classic and still fun onboard activities is trivia! DCL is chock full of it, too. Each cruise will have multiple opportunities for games. Some are geared just for kids, some for families, and some just for the adults! Since the goal is fun, is expected that you answer and score your own work on the honor system – no googling, people! Trivia is always free, friendly, and the winner walks away with both bragging rights and a fun prize! It may be a keychain, a luggage tag, or maybe a medal you can proudly wear for the remainder of your trip – totally acceptable. There are many different trivia topics, but some of the most common ones are:
Pub Quiz
Decade-specific music (think 70s, 80s, etc.)
Disney music
TV tunes
Theme Parks
Disney Villains quotes
Movie quotes
Pirate
Ultimate Disney
Have you won you ever won onboard trivia? Brag in the comments!
