Disney Cruise Line: In The News

March 9th is going to be the Best Day Ever on the Disney Magic! Disney Parks Blog shared details on the upcoming dry dock enhancements, and they are amazing to say the least. Carioca’s will become Rapunzel’s Royal Table — a dining room much like Tiana’s Place on the Disney Wonder. Guests will be treated to an evening filled with fun and live entertainment in the kingdom of Corona, complete with visits from Rapunzel and those lovable thugs from the Snuggly Duckling. While this is definitely the crowning jewel of these enhancements, we can’t forget about the new look coming to Vibe (including a coffee and smoothie bar), Club Disney Junior coming to the Oceaneer’s Club, a tropically redesigned Cove Cafe, and an updated Rainforest Room at Senses Spa.

The Disney Magic will begin her dry dock on February 23. The new enhancements will debut on the March 9 sailing, a 5-night cruise to the Bahamas out of Miami.

Another week, another round of awards for Disney Cruise Line! Scott Sanders of the Disney Cruise Line blog shared the 2018 Best Cruise Line Rankings from U.S. News & World Report, in which Disney Cruise Line was named #1 as Best Cruise Line for Families and Best Cruise Line in the Caribbean. That’s 5 years of being tops on this list, and we are not even remotely surprised.

Disney Parks Blog has provided us with a first look at some of the fun coming to the Marvel Day at Sea cruises. The Black Panther will make his debut on the ship, making this one meet and greet not to be missed. Doctor Strange will lead guests through an interactive show about the Mystic Arts. When night falls, the Marvel Super Heroes and Villains will have an epic showdown at sea. And, Mickey and his friends can’t resist getting in on the fun — they’ll be dressed up as their favorite Super Heroes during “Mickey and Friends Super Hero Celebration”.

Sweet on You on the Disney Fantasy is so sweet to share another great try-at-home recipe with us: this week, your sweet tooth is being put to the test with a Cotton Candy milkshake recipe.

Upcoming Entertainment

The following films are being shown aboard the Disney Cruise Line ships this month:

  • Moana
  • Beauty and the Beast
  • Born in China
  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
  • Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
  • Cars 3
  • Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
  • Thor: Ragnarok
  • Coco (premiering on November 22)

For future reference, films debut on the Disney Cruise Line the same day of their initial release in the United States. Films do vary by ship. Show times are available in your Personal Navigator or the official Disney Cruise Line app.

Captain’s Log: Important Tips and Information

It’s the most delicious time of the year – Thanksgiving! There is no shortage of tradition onboard this week, especially when it comes to Thanksgiving dinner. If you will be cruising this week, The Disney Cruise Line Blog has a look at the Thanksgiving menus from last year to give you an idea of what Mickey and his chefs will be whipping up for you!

As an extra treat, guests sailing on November 22 will be treated to the premier of Pixar’s latest film, Coco. Rumor has it that the ending is a real tear-jerker — even moreso than Toy Story 3. Grab some tissues before heading into the theater.

Are you deciding whether to book a Disney Cruise but are having a tough time deciding which ship fits all of your desires? Well, our own Laurel Stewart has put together a chart that makes it easy to compare all of the options in one place. Also available as a valuable planning and companion guide from authors Len Testa, Erin Foster, and Laurel Stewart is The Unofficial Guide to the Disney Cruise Line. The companion guide contains a complete overview of each Disney ship as well as Castaway Cay and includes valuable tips on how to save time and money during your cruise!

Special thanks to Scott Sanders of The DCL Blog for assisting on this article. Until next week….I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving!! May your stomach, and your hearts, be full. 🙂
