Halloween is over, Dapper Day returns, and things start to transition over to Christmas and the other winter holidays! Read on to find out about this and more in this week’s Disneyland news.

Special Events and Notes

Halloween is over, but you still have a couple of days to experience Dia de los Muertos, which runs through November 3. Swing by the Plaza de la Familia at Paradise Gardens Park for special music, food, and photo opportunities with Miguel from Coco. As always, there is a display over near Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland Park as well.

Dapper Days return to Disneyland this weekend, and you can expect guests to be looking extra sharp for the occasion. The weekend includes an Expo at the Disneyland Hotel in addition to people dressed to the nines in the parks. You can find more information at the official Dapper Days site.

Disney wastes no time in transitioning from one holiday season to another, and, indeed, Disneyland’s A Christmas Fantasy Parade and Believe… In Holiday Magic fireworks start this Friday. Of course, holiday merchandise is already available to sale in the parks as well. Preview some of the latest offerings here, and be sure to keep your eyes open for it in the parks!

Are you flying into LAX for your Disneyland trip? Be aware that LAX has a new process for travelers using rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft. Pickup no longer occurs curbside, it instead takes place in the “LAX-it” area near Terminal 1 (the Southwest terminal). There is a shuttle that will take travelers from their terminals to the pickup lot. Suffice it to say that you should budget a bit more time than you used to for getting out of the airport area. You can find more details here.

Finally, Passholders still have the opportunity to get special commemorative buttons just by mobile ordering food on the Disneyland app.  Each participating location will have its own button, so you collectors will have the chance to rack up quite a few. More details, including a list of participating restaurants, are available here.

Crowds are expected to drop significantly this week with Halloween in the rear view mirror. Only Friday crowds are predicted to even reach medium crowd levels, and Wednesday is predicted to be level 2.

The weather is forecast to be pretty consistent all week long, with highs right around 80 most days. Southern California could really use some rain to help with the wildfires they are experiencing, but there’s nothing in the forecast on that front this week. We know many travelers from afar in particular are interested, and the tragic fires in the Southern California are not currently expected to impact Disneyland or its surrounding area.

As always, it’s wise to double check the weather as the day of your visit approaches. Check out the most up-to-date forecast here.

Fantasmic! is being shown at least once per night, and Mickey’s Mix Magic ends its very brief run on Sunday. Fall refurbs have largely concluded, but there are still a couple of brief refurbishments to be aware of this week.  it’s a small world will be down through November 8 to receive its holiday makeover. Both Autopoia and Indiana Jones Adventure will be briefly offline from November 4-8. Over at California Adventure, the Red Car Trolley remains dark until next spring. As always, however, refurbishments can pop up unexpectedly, so check out our refurbishments page to make sure your favorite ride is still running, and for details on exactly what will be down and for how long.

That should do it for this week’s news. Check back next week and every week to find out what’s coming down the pike. Got questions? Aware of anything else that prospective guests should know about? Let us know in the comments.
