Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge Construction Update for January, 2026

Construction at Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge has made big progress since our last photo update in August, 2025. Since then, exterior walls of the main Lodge have taken shape and the A-frame buildings are more than just steel beams.

We visited Fort Wilderness recently and snapped a few photos from the dock near Tri-Circle-D Ranch.

Disney hasn’t released many details about Lakeshore, which will be the newest Vacation Club Resort when it opens. There are, however, lots of public documents that must be filed for a construction project this large. TouringPlans researched Lakeshore Lodge concept art and plans filed with the South Florida Water Management District to suss out what this new resort might look like when complete. TouringPlans paid for artist renderings and models of what we might expect. The art and images we share below do not come from and are not approved by Disney. They were paid for by TouringPlans are simply our best guess at what to expect.

While the map above is not produced by Disney, you can see that the position of the large A-frame cabins and main Lodge building line up with the construction progress in the photographs we captured. From the position of the Lodge, it looks like Lakeshore may share an entrance with Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

Based on the information we were able to obtain, we commissioned possible designs for the Treehouse Cabins located near Pioneer Hall in the map shared above.

The view in the image above is taken from a real photo of Discovery Island by the legendary Bioreconstruct. It’s easy to imagine how special Magic Kingdom fireworks would be from this space.

We obviously don’t have room rates for non-DVC stays at Lakeshore Lodge, but we have to assume this kind of layout would come with a huge price tag.

So torn! It’s beautiful and right up my alley, but Fort Wilderness is as OGWDW as it gets. But it LOOKS SO GOOD and I ❤️ the Copper Creek cabins. If this is as nice as those, I can’t wait.

  • Love the concept art – no curtains tho! Maybe its those new electric opaque glass things.

I know I shouldn’t but I do worry about little ole pioneer hall!
