12 Big Events in Walt Disney World This May
May is shaping up to be a fun month in Disney World, so we’ve pulled together a list of 12 things happening that we don’t want you to miss. If you can’t make it down yourself, stay tuned right here because we’re covering it all!

Passholder Summer Days begin on Friday, May 1st. This is when Disney Annual Passholders can get their free magnet, buy a special popcorn bucket, and take advantage of some pretty steep dining discounts.

Big Thunder Mountain will finally reopen in the Magic Kingdom on Sunday, May 3rd! At the time of this post:
- Lightning Lane Multi Pass for the Magic Kingdom on reopening day is available for $32 per person, plus tax.
- Lightning Lane Premier Pass is also available for $399 per person, plus tax.
Big Thunder won’t be utilizing virtual queue when it reopens, so as long as you’re willing to part with some extra cash or time in line, you should be able to ride. Len & our stats team have wait time forecasts on the TouringPlans Lines app and our website. They’ll be watching posted waits closely when Big Thunder comes back online and will be showing the next available Lightning Lanes 7 days out.

Monday, May 4th, is time to be in touch with your Dark Side. Or Rebel / Resistance powers! No judgement here. Hollywood Studios will be all about Star Wars on May 4th and that includes special food, Magic PhotoPass shots, and likely a nifty new popcorn bucket to be announced in the coming days. While Disney has been slow-releasing May the 4th merch online, there will be lots available in Hollywood Studios on the special day, too.
At the time of this post:
- Lightning Lane Multi Pass for Hollywood Studios is $35 per person, plus tax for May 4th.
- Lightning Lane Single Pass for Rise of the Resistance, a must on May the 4th, is showing $24 per person plus tax.
- Lightning Lane Premier Pass is listed at $319 per person plus tax.

Sunday, May 10th, brings the reopening of Impressions de France and Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along in the France Pavilion of EPCOT.
Showtimes for May 10th:
- 9:00am – 9:30am Impressions de France
- 10:00am – 6:30pm Beauty and the Beast Sing-along
- 7:00pm – 8:45pm Impressions de France

Tuesday, May 12th, brings the reopening of Typhoon Lagoon Water Park! Blizzard Beach Water Park will remain open which will ease some of the crowds taking advantage of the 2026 Water Park Benefit. Keep your peepers peeped for Stitch sightings near the Surf Pool.

Friday, May 22nd, brings a new mission at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Hollywood Studios. The Mandalorian and Grogu will star in the new mission and Disney has announced that the crew will have control over their destination! We can’t wait to see the new graphics and game play!

Tuesday, May 26th, is going to be so busy and so much fun! We’ve got 7 folks in the parks that day to make sure we get you the details on everything! The 26th brings:
- Opening of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets
- Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! opens inside the Walt Disney Studios Courtyard
- Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station opens. Bluey & Bingo meet & greet and Jumping Junction featuring animals native to Australia
- Jessie’s Roundup: A Rip-Roarin’ Revue opens in the Diamond Horseshoe
- Soarin’ Across America premiers
- Cool Kid Summer kicks off across all of Walt Disney World
