Downtown Disney Dining Updates in Spring 2024

Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District has been transforming over the last little bit and today we have updates about new dining options — including a permanent home for the Earl of Sandwich. Here’s what was announced:

Parkside Market

Back in October, Disney announced Parkside Market as a new location for the West End expansion. Four restaurants would share a single roof, each with its own dedicated space.

Three of the tenants were announced at that time:

  • Seoul Sister, with a Korean-fusion-based menu featuring bibimbap-inspired bowls with a California twist.
  • Sip & Sonder, bringing the same signature lattes, frozen drinks, and Caribbean-inspired dishes found at their other L.A. locations
  • GG’s Chicken Shop with chicken salads, sandwiches, and other family-friendly menu offerings

The fourth tenant was announced as what we described as “an as-yet-unnamed second-story bar that will offer great views and a marketing-buzzword-laden variety of cocktails and mocktails with a focus on local ingredients”. That’s still all we know about it.

Earl of Sandwich Permanent Location

Earl of Sandwich is a Disney staple on both coasts, known for filling, tasty sandwiches and salads that won’t break your pocketbook. It’s currently on its second (or is that third?) temporary location as it moves around in Downtown Disney to accommodate the transformation, but the permanent location sounds like it will be worth the wait.

We did not get any concept art for the new location in the announcement, only the picture above to make you hungry (hungry for a trip to Disney?) as you read. But the new shop will be an all-new, two-story outfit with a quick-service Earl of Sandwich downstairs and a table-service gastropub in the second story. More details are coming in the future.

In the meantime, Earl of Sandwich will be moving from its current temporary location on the East End soon to make way for an all-new Porto’s Bakery. You’ll find it in a new temporary home near Star Wars Trading Post.

Mexican Concepts in the Center of the District

Three new Mexican concepts will open in the center of Downtown Disney later this spring. Paseo will be an upstairs dining room with menus created by Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Gaytán. Céntrico will occupy the first floor with a courtyard bar and restaurant. Both locations will feature upscale Mexican cuisine and tequila-based cocktails.

Meanwhile, the newly announced Tiendita will be a quick-service stop right next door. Different restaurant; same menu wizardry. Tiendita will also feature a menu by Chef Gaytán, with Mexican street-food staples that are perfect to take on the go.

Are you looking forward to these new locations? Are you happy to hear that Earl of Sandwich will finally be able to settle down? Let us know in the comments!

Although it took three visits for the Disney bug to "take", she now really wishes she lived a lot closer to the Parks.
