Downtown Disney Happy Ice Review
Happy Ice is a Italian ice dessert cart located in Disneyland Resort‘s Downtown Disney in Anaheim, California. Happy Ice is a Los Angeles-based chain that bills themselves as “Los Angeles #1 Premium Italian Ice Company.” In this post we’ll review Downtown Disney’s location and see if this viral treat is worth trying.
For several years Happy Ice would come and go from Downtown Disney in the form of a food truck. Whenever the truck was around it wasn’t unusual to see long lines of people waiting to get their hands on one of the frozen treats. Recently Happy Ice opened up a permanent location in Downtown Disney. It’s located near Parkside Market and across the walkway from Star Wars Trading Post.

The menu is made up of Happy Ice Specials, which is Italian ice with combinations of multiple flavors. A large serving is $12, while a regular is $10 and a kids size is $8.50. Condensed milk or chamoy can be added for $2 each, and ice cream can be added for $3. We recommend going for the large size, as it’s not much of a price difference and it can easily be split between multiple people.

We tried the Summertime, which is made of mango, strawberry, and watermelon flavors. We also paid to add on ice cream. The Italian ice is surprisingly substantial and each flavor was different enough to be noticeable. Overall it was very tasty and refreshing, the mixture of flavors was great, and it was miles better than the typical shaved ice you find at some theme parks and carnivals.
Next time we would skip the ice cream add on. It’s not bad at all, but it is vegan and made with oat milk. It’s a little too heavy and artificial tasting. I should also mention there’s ice cream sundaes, or Joy-Lati Specials as they call them. These are $13.95 each and come topped with things like cake crumble, peach sauce, bananas, and several other options.
Happy Ice is a great addition to Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney. It’s hard to compete with other dessert options in the same complex, especially Salt & Straw, but Happy Ice has already proved itself to be a crowd pleaser that doesn’t disappoint.
