This new scare zone, located in the Central Park area of Universal Studios Florida, is based on the seasonal Fortnitemares event in game where new characters and locations inspired by Halloween are added. From the Universal press release:
Now, Halloween Horror Nights’ fans will have the chance to “drop in” to the world of Fortnitemares, with an all-new scare zone, featuring ever-evolving and high-stakes environments. Guests will enter Freaky Fields, a Halloween-inspired living battleground overcome with a threatening force. Throughout the scare zone, fans will encounter the Battle Bus along with familiar Fortnitemares characters – plus a few new additions exclusive to Halloween Horror Nights – as they work to escape and claim victory.
What stands out to us is the “ever-evolving” environment. Fortnite is a battle royal where the game field contracts as more players are removed. Maybe we’ll see the scare zone adapt and change as the game being played progresses. We’re expecting this to be a hugely popular scare zone with lots of guests looking to grab a photo with the Battle Bus (it’s by Animal Actors) or their favorite characters.
Halloween Horror Nights 35 at Universal Studios Florida runs August 28 through November 1, 2026. Admission, Express, Tours, and more are now on sale.
