Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Touring Plan for Adults with Small Children

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets go on sale for everyone on May 12th, so it’s time to start planning! If you’re headed to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary this year with preschool or elementary aged children, this is for you!

We’ve broken the Touring Plan down by lands and have highlighted everything that might appeal to young children and their adults. You won’t be able to see and do everything, especially with little ones, so these Touring Plans were designed to help you make the most of your night without feeling overwhelmed.

Adventureland

MNSSHP Touring Plan for Adults with Small Children- Adventureland

Adventureland offers 3 rides that will be open during MNSSHP and we’ve provided ratings by age group. You’ll see on the chart above that Magic Carpets of Aladdin is popular with both Preschool and Elementary aged children.

Dinner at Pecos Bill will allow you close access to both parades (map above) if your kiddos have the desire and patience to watch a few minutes of the fun. If not, you’re close to three treat stops and two other rides!

Note the 3.7 rating given to Big Thunder Mountain by TouringPlans Subscribers for their preschool aged kids. We haven’t received enough surveys to see if the smallest folks like this ride better since it reopened, so take heed if this is part of your plan. The good news? If your team loves Big Thunder and Tiana, you’ll be able to enjoy low waits during the start of the Boo to You Parade!

Note- The Country Bear treat stop is difficult to navigate with strollers. Leave it parked outside if you can, or do the Tiana stop twice and skip the Bears!

MNSSHP Touring Plan for Adults with Small Children – Liberty Square

Yes, we know that Pinocchio Village Haus isn’t in Liberty Square, but it’s a close walk from the Haunted Mansion, and it’s a much bigger hit with little kids than Sleepy Hollow! You can check your Party night on our Crowd Calendar for exact forecasts, but Haunted Mansion usually has low waits during the first official hour of the Party.

MNSSHP Touring Plan for Adults with Small Children- Fantasyland (1 of 2)

Fantasyland is the place to be if you’re bringing little ones to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary! Three treat stops, lots of very popular rides, and character surprises! Wait times for Pooh and Pals in their Halloween costumes can top a 60 minute wait, but the ride wait times are much shorter. Keep an eye out when you head into Princess Fairytale Hall for your candy – you’re likely to see a villain or two in the wings!

MNSSHP Touring Plan for Adults with Small Children – Fantasyland (2 of 2)

Fantasyland is the absolute best place to watch the one Halloween Fireworks show of the night with little ones! No need to find a spot an hour in advance, and no crush of crowds! You can mill about gathering candy and still hear the spooky audio and see a breathtaking view of the fireworks. You won’t see Jack Skellington or the projections on the Castle, but that can be on your Plan when the kids are older. It’s still a truly wonderful experience without those things.

MNSSHP Touring Plan for Adults with Small Children – Storybook Circus

Storybook Circus has been a real party place during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary over the last few years! Both rides are huge hits with this age group and they never have high waits during the Party. Goofy is typically stationed in the loop just in front of the Barnstormer. Two treat stops, two great rides, characters, and a very fun playground make this a real Party highlight. You’re also just steps away from the coldest restroom in the Magic Kingdom, right in front of the Train Station.

MNSSHP Touring Plan for Adults with Small Children – Tomorrowland (1 of 2)

Think about Child Swap or skipping Space Mountain and TRON if you have kids under 5 who are tall enough to ride. That group does not rate either ride highly as you can see from the chart above. Their older counterparts however? LOVE Tron and Space Mountain.

MNSSHP Touring Plan for Adults with Small Children – Tomorrowland (2 of 2)

The newly refurbished Buzz Lightyear is sure to be a winner for nearly any member of your party. We love the new hand-held blaster and point system. You can read our full review here, but plan to ride at least once! Check our Crowd Calendar for your Party date, but we’re forecasting very low waits for the 7:00pm hour at Buzz for the first few dates.

Disney just announced a brand new dance party with Stitch at the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland. Keep your phone out because the Tomorrowland dance parties usually include characters in special costumes hopping into the crowd to dance with guests!

We will update these plans as Disney announces more entertainment details and showtimes!
