Star Wars Galactic ID Now Available at Disneyland Resort

A popular new souvenir has arrived at Disneyland Resort, and some fans are waiting over an hour to get it. The Star Wars Galactic ID is an acrylic card with your picture on it, themed to look like an ID straight from the Star Wars universe. In this post we’ll show you where to get the card, how the process works, and how much it costs.

The Star Wars Galactic ID is available in Star Wars Trading Post in Downtown Disney. The Galactic ID is new and popular, so lines have been anywhere from 30 minutes up to 2 hours. It’s worth noting there’s no wait to get in the store, the line is only for the Star Wars Galactic ID.

There are two Star Wars Galactic ID booths. Both offer the same cards and options.

The process is started by completing payment. Payment can be made either by scanning the QR code on the screen, or by a payment terminal below the screen. Only contactless payments, and credit or debt cards are accepted. Each card is $15.

Six faction options are available which determine what the card will look like:

  • Rebel Alliance Pilot
  • Stormtrooper
  • Bounty Hunter
  • New Republic Pilot
  • Jedi Knight
  • Tie Fighter Pilot

After selecting a faction, three seperate photos are taken. You’ll have 5 seconds to get ready for each one. You’ll then be prompted to select your favorite of the three, which will be printed on the card.

The inside of the booth is appropriately themed to match the Star Wars universe.

The process is now done. All that’s left to do is to exit the booth and wait for your card to print.

The outside of the Star Wars Galactic ID photo booth shows all six variations of the card.

The printing process only takes a few minutes. When it’s done, the card will pop out automatically. Here’s my Rebel Alliance Pilot card. The Galactic ID itself is made of acrylic, is transparent, and features a photo of your head superimposed on the body of whichever faction you select.

When I was waiting in line a cast member had examples of what each card looks like.

I’m a sucker for very silly Star Wars things like this, so I thought this was a simple and fun souvenir. If I was a kid I would have been obsessed with this thing.

Do you think the Star Wars Galactic ID is worth it? Which faction would you select for your card? Let me know in the comments.
