Lunch and dinner feature roasted chicken breast with citrus and Cajun spices, herb and garlic salmon creole, roast beef with cognac.
The French Market features comfort food with a Cajun-Creole flair and periodic entertainment from one or more of the roving park musicians or groups.
Setting and Atmosphere
In the heart of New Orleans Square, the French Market suggests a laid-back Southern vibe with lots of wrought iron under the shade of large, mature ficus trees. There's a small indoor-dining area, but the best seating is outdoors on a large patio, covered with umbrellas and shadowed further by the trees.
The menu features roasted half chicken with citrus and Cajun spices, panko-crusted red snapper, and Cajun meatloaf. The jambalaya is a hearty, savory alternative that hits the spot on cooler winter days. Most meals come with a side of rice or mashed potatoes and corn bread.
Hearty soups; a few fresh and flavorful salads (including a yam and apple salad).
