We Know Disney Parks!

TouringPlans.com is the official home of The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World and The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland. In print since 1985 and on the web since 2002, we've been obsessively researching the ins and outs of Disney Parks for years. Our mission is simple: to help you have a better vacation by saving you time and money on your trip!

Research Team

Len Testa, President len@touringplans.com

Len is the co-author of The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World, The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland, and The Unofficial Guide to British Theme Parks. He also is a contributor to the Unofficial Guide to Las Vegas. Len is responsible for these things called "Touring Plans" that were the result of his graduate thesis, and he is the lead researcher for TouringPlans.com and book content. Most of his time is spent trying to keep up with the team. And when he's not doing that, he's one of the co-hosts of the WDW Today podcast.

Steve Bloom, Statistician steve@touringplans.com

By helping TouringPlans.com continue to reach the most accurate crowd level predictions, Steve finally found a way to meld his training in statistical analysis with a lifelong passion for Disney. He first visited the Magic Kingdom in 1972, just a few months after it opened. Now he enjoys frequent trips with his two kids. At age four his son insisted on wearing cowboy boots to reach the height requirement for Test Track, and his daughter believes that a smoked turkey leg and Dole Whip make a perfectly balanced meal. Even though she doesn't quite get it, Steve's wife is supportive of his Disney activities.

Tom Bricker, Chief Photographer tom@touringplans.com

Tom is in charge of the excellent photos around here. He makes treks to Disney Parks with his wife, Sarah, multiple times per year to stay up until ridiculous hours and take pictures of various things. Tom's also a contributor to the Unofficial Guide Color Companion to Walt Disney World and the TouringPlans.com Blog. When he's not taking pictures of things, Tom moonlights as an attorney in the epicenter of excitement, Indiana. Well, if your idea of excitement contains cows, wind power, and corn fields. You can check out Tom's photo talents on his Flickr page.

David Davies, Analyst david@touringplans.com

David keeps information up-to-date, organizes things, drafts code and content, and manages the Ultimate Touring Plans content. A Southern California native currently living in Williamsburg, Virginia, David is a business-minded IT strategist and project manager who has worked up and down the East Coast in a variety of sectors and capacities. Because of Ultimate Touring, he has about as many in-park photos of him and Aurora as he does of him and his wife.

Fred Hazelton, Master Statistician fred@touringplans.com

Fred is the statistician behind the Crowd Calendar and theme park wait time models. He also works his statistical magic for The Unofficial Guides to Las Vegas and Disneyland, and he created the models used in the TouringPlans.com mobile wait times app, Lines. Fred is a professional statistician living in Ontario, Canada, although his family firmly believes he lives at the airport.

Brad Huber, Developer brad@touringplans.com

A lifelong computer nerd, Brad is a part-time web developer. Born and raised in New Orleans, he's been addicted to all things Disney ever since his first trip to Walt Disney World on his honeymoon in 2007. When he's not programming for TouringPlans.com, he has a full-time job doing even more programming—and that's just the way he likes it!

Sarah Kelleth, Developer sarah@touringplans.com

Sarah is a computer programmer who gets to sit at home all day playing with...er, that is, seriously doing the very hard work of developing and maintaining the Touring Plans website and the Lines mobile app. For a geeky introvert, this is as awesome as it gets. When she's not doing that, she's attempting to curse...uh, gift her family with the Disney Parks obsession she got from her dad. She's progressing pretty well—her husband proposed on the PeopleMover with a Mickey-reminiscent ring, and her year-old daughter recognizes Cinderella Castle better than her own house.

Scarlett Litton, Researcher and Social Media Coordinator scarlett@touringplans.com

Scarlett grew up with a ridiculous passion for Disney Parks. This love has led her to spend several weeks in front of a closed Star Tours: The Adventures Continue waiting for it to open, ride Space Mountain over and over for days on end, and trek tirelessly around all four parks to ensure Touring Plans are as efficient as possible. She can often be found tweeting from the parks on the @TouringPlans account. Scarlett also loves Dumbo, Broadway musicals, and World Wrestling Entertainment.

Brian McNichols, Analyst brian@touringplans.com

Brian handles many of the data analysis tasks such as projecting park hours and attempting to discover hidden trends. His jarring life change from federal government analyst to tour guide, travel agent (specializing in Disney), and TouringPlans.com analyst and blogger has us all worried about his sanity.

Gerelyn Reaves, Customer Service Representative and Analyst gerelyn@touringplans.com

Gerelyn is responsible for responding to customer email messages, as well as for the park hours, showtimes, closures, and data input that power the tools at TouringPlans.com. She lives in McKinney, Texas, within 100 miles of all four of her daughters, allowing her to enjoy her grandkids and working with TouringPlans.com.

Guy Selga, Researcher guy@touringplans.com

Guy has lived near Disneyland his entire life and was raised by a Disney-obsessed mother and grandmother. Guy is now channeling his obsession to be a researcher and blogger for TouringPlans.com on the the West Coast. For the record, just because Guy is from Los Angeles doesn't mean that he knows how to surf, knows any famous people, has ever written a movie script, or has been a part of a gangster rap group.

Laurel Stewart, Business Manager laurel@touringplans.com

Laurel manages operations and does business development for TouringPlans.com. She is also a contributing writer to the Unofficial Guide series. Before making the move to the travel industry, Laurel worked for a large Redmond, Washington-based software company. When Laurel is out researching the Disney Parks or training for her next marathon, her 4-pound dog holds down the fort in North Carolina.

Darcie Vance, Researcher darcie@touringplans.com

A veteran of the Orlando hospitality industry and former Disney Cast Member, Darcie began researching for The Unofficial Guide in 2004, back when data was recorded with pencil and paper. Since then, she has collected information and checked facts for Unofficial Guide publications for San Francisco, Disneyland, British Theme Parks, and--of course--Walt Disney World. You may recognize Darcie from her glamorous appearance riding Test Track on the Disney Parks: Ultimate Walt Disney World video.

Justin Wheeler, Developer justinw@touringplans.com

Justin is a web developer/Disney fan living in the Orlando area. His love for EPCOT began as a toddler, when he first experienced the wonder of Figment and the smell of orange groves. With years of being the go-to family member for Disney World advice, he loves being able to help people plan their vacations by doing part-time development for TouringPlans.com. Outside of the parks and his computers, Justin can be found spending time with his wife and two sons, thinking up awful puns.
