This is a relaxing, festive place, but it’s not always worth the wait (especially if it’s 2 hours, which it has been known to be). This place is wildly popular with Jimmy Buffett fans standing in line just to get a beeper so they can stand in line some more and wait for a table. The atmosphere, though, is like a taste of the beach without having to travel to the coast.
The food is a mix of Floridian and Caribbean, so expect lots of seafood and Jamaican seasoning. The food is good, but not good enough for non-Buffett fans to make a special trip. If the line for a table is outrageous, see if you can sidle up to the bar for a margarita and appetizers, which is just as much—if not more—fun than actually having a full meal. None of entrees, including the cheeseburger, will make you think that you’re in paradise, but fans don’t seem to care.
Setting and Atmosphere
A boisterous tribute to the chief Parrothead. Two-story dining space with many large-screen TVs playing Jimmy Buffett music videos and scenes from his live performances. The focal point is a volcano that erupts occasionally, spewing margarita mix instead of lava. The Lone Palm Airport next door features a seaplane and offers quick bites and drinks.
Cheeseburgers and margaritas, of course; fish tacos; jambalaya; coconut shrimp; Key lime pie.
Live music on the porch early; band on inside stage late evening.
