REVIEW – Gaston’s Tavern Cinnamon Rolls Are Roughly the Size of a Barge
No one bakes like Gaston, apparently. Gaston’s Tavern is home to an iconic Magic Kingdom treat that were once served at Main Street Bakery, but when it was converted to a Starbucks location they rolled over to Gaston’s Tavern.
Magic Kingdom is best when it is rope dropped, meaning you get to the park well before its published opening time. To get in as many attractions as possible first thing in the morning you’ll want to have breakfast before you get to the park. But once you’ve accomplished some major rides thanks to rope drop (and using our Lines app), reward yourself with a Warm Cinnamon Roll at Gaston’s Tavern.
This highly themed snack place is fun to visit even if just for the décor and details. Mobile ordering is not offered here so you’ll have some time to check out how Gaston uses antlers in all of his decorating.
This massive cinnamon roll is $5.99 which is the price of most specialty cupcakes at Walt Disney World. But we feel this is a better value than a cupcake. It is large, gooey, buttery, and served warm. Plus, you can ask for extra frosting on the side, at no extra charge!
You can grab a coffee, hot tea, juice, or soft drink to go with your Warm Cinnamon Roll. There’s also the LeFou’s Brew specialty beverage which generally earns strong opinions. This frozen apple juice drink can be refreshing, but it would be too much sugar with the cinnamon roll. Our readers give Gaston’s Tavern a 92% thumbs up rating and it is ranked #27 out of 167 quick snack locations across Walt Disney World.
Now, if you’re looking for a heartier breakfast, you may want to consider Main Street Bakery, a.k.a the Starbucks at Magic Kingdom. Yes, you can pretty much get the same stuff at your local Starbucks, but the selection of hearty breakfast sandwiches is hard to beat elsewhere at Magic Kingdom.

DIL said we had to try these. I was skeptical, until I ate ONE BITE!!! INCREDIBLE!!! You don’t even need additional icing. I thought we needed to buy two, but we shared it among the 5 of us (one was 6 years old). BEST sweet at MK in my opinion.
We have stopped here the past few times we were in MK for a mid-morning snack, adding it to our Touring Plan. The round room with the big table is our favorite. They also have apple slices with caramel sauce for our son who has to eat gluten free. It’s a win-win snack stop for our family!
We stood in a 25-minute line outside IN the pouring rain (only 2 people in line got to be inside with distancing) our last day in MK this month just to get cinnamon rolls! We did snag a table and got to eat without getting wet. A family tradition.
Whatever happened to the pork shank that was a signature item when Gaston’s opened? Had it a couple times after it opened and it was every bit as good as a turkey leg, if not better. Last time we were in MK I went by to grab one and they no longer sold them, and this was pre-covid menu changes.
Rope drop Magic Kingdom then head straight to Gaston’s for cinnamon rolls. This is our family’s favorite Disney tradition!
This is one of our family traditions – it is tops on the list for my elderly father and my oldest son who always stop in on one of our MK morning to enjoy them. It brings a smile to my face just thinking about them!
That is so sweet! (pun intended)
Great cinnamon roll. I still wish the bakery were still on Main Street. Starbucks could have just been an enclave to it with all the baked goods still intact.
