Newly Redesigned Pop Century Rooms Officially Unveiled
Today, in a tweet that was provided by @WDWToday is seemingly getting buried by the news that a chunk of the monorail appears to have flown off and the monorail is being evacuated, we were able to see officially what the new redesign of the Pop Century rooms are looking like.
Groovy! The resort rooms at Disney’s #PopCentury Resort are starting to pop with updates in color and comfort! pic.twitter.com/3aEsZbISWF

As you can see, the entirety of the room has been upgraded. While there are still two beds, one of the beds easily converts to a table, much like they do at Disney’s Art of Animation’s family suites. Also gone is the carpet, instead opting for what appears to be some sort of wood flooring.
The new rooms still include a refrigerator, but they also have a one cup coffee maker now! Also, there appears to be a lot of plugs and USB ports.
The color palette of the room is also a bit warmer. I particularly like the whites and reds. Oh and I love the Mickey Mouse artwork. And how cute is the artwork of Pluto sleeping in the fold down bed? Overall, the rooms have a very clean aesthetic.
The TV is now mounted on the wall and there appears to be a bit more storage, both in the bedroom, as well as the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, there is a newly updated and modern sink. They have also added a makeup mirror and I will certainly appreciate the brighter bathroom when I’m getting ready.
It also appears that the bathroom proper has been brightened up. The bathroom appears to have a tub with actual glass shower doors now.
I can’t wait to experience these new Disney’s Pop Century Resort rooms myself! While the work is currently being done at the resort, there’s no guarantee that you will end up with a newly remodeled room. If it’s important to you to have a newly refurbished room, my suggestion would be to ask at check-in. Again, it won’t be guaranteed, but you might be able to experience one of these new rooms!
I am looking forward to this refurbishment. We stayed in here this past April and the floors had been redone with the wood floor look. The rooms really need an update and it good to see that is finally happening. I really like the brightness these changes make to the room. I am also glad they are removing the “stapled” mattress skirts – ugh!

When is all the renovations suppose to be done?
I’d love this as a solo traveler or just a couple but don’t know how I’d feel about it if I was a family with kids or someone who needed two beds.
Does anyone know which section(s) the completed renovations are in?
I love the throwback but also nostalgic feel of the wood on that big panel that hides the trundle bed. Reminds me of a mid-century modern table but also something brand new. Hard to describe but I love it for the Pop.
I wish we also got the view from the door looking in. What is that thing across the room from the bed in the picture where it is down? A bookcase/shelf-thing? or is it just the cover from the bed pushed across the room? I also would like a shot of the storage space under the TV and to see where/if there is a fridge.
Love this new aesthetic though. Can’t wait to stay at Pop again and get one of these rooms.
That should read “throwback but also modern feel”. Though it is a throwback and nostalgic feel since both mean the same thing!
Are the beds still full sized?
It appears one is a queen and the pull down is a full.
I have heard that they are both now Queen sized.
