Virtual Queue is Back at WDW- With a Big Change

Bluey is coming to Walt Disney World, and that means the return of the often dreaded virtual queue. Bluey and her sister, Bingo, will star in the new show “Bluey’s Wild World” at Conservation Station. They are so popular that crowds are expected to be wild. Hence, the Virtual Queue.

We’re here to set you up with everything you need to know about the Virtual Queue, including who needs one, how and when to get one, and how to use it.

What is a Virtual Queue?

When Disney Parks have a new or very popular attraction, the lines can get very long (like up to five hours). Of course, that causes chaos, and if you are in a line for five hours, you aren’t able to enjoy the rest of your day in the park. To prevent this, they have a system that lets guests enter an online queue, using the My Disney Experience app, which notifies you when you can get into a much shorter (though not always short) physical queue.

Every Guest Over Two Years Old Must Have a Virtual Queue Return Time

If you have a ticket or an annual pass to enter Animal Kingdom, you must acquire a virtual queue to attend. Babies aged two and under can enter the queue and enjoy Conservation Station with their families without the virtual queue.

If you have a DAS or Disability Access Service, you must have a Virtual Queue.

We will update this post on the 26th as soon as we know if there are any lines once you are at Conservation Station that use the DAS.

In My Disney Experience, tap the menu, then scroll to virtual queue, then edit your party if needed, and keep hitting refresh!

How to Get a Virtual Queue

Beginning May 26th, there will be opportunities to join the Virtual Queue at 7:00 am and 10:00 am. Notice: in the past, the timing was typically 7:00 am and 1:00 pm. I believe this change is because Disney’s Animal Kingdom closes early, but it is very helpful for naptime!

  1. Make sure everyone who wants to see Bluey or see their family enjoy Bluey is connected in the Friends and Family list on the My Disney Experience (MDE). If you have minor children whose accounts are managed by parents, then they will be included in that account. I recommend you do this at least a week before you visit Disney World.
  2. Set an alarm for 6:55 am or earlier. The first Virtual Queue opens at 7:00 am.
  3. 6:55 am- Open the My Disney Experience app and go to the three-bar menu on the bottom right corner. Then scroll down to Virtual Queue.
  4. Tap the “Join Virtual Queue” button
  5. Tap the Animal Kingdom icon
  6. A list of names will appear at the bottom of your screen above the refresh button. Check to be sure everyone traveling with you is showing on the list.
  7. At 6:59, start hitting the blue refresh tab as fast as you can until the screen changes a lot- don’t read or pause, just pound that button. Hopefully, at 7:00:03, you will receive a group number.
  8. If you didn’t get a group number, you will either see a message that tells you someone else in your group already included you (YAY!!), or you may get the dreaded  “the queue has closed.” Don’t lose hope, another opportunity is coming.
  9. If you do not get a return time at 7:00, you can join the 10:00 am queue IF you are in Animal Kingdom.
  10. Set an alarm for 9:55 am and repeat the same process.
  11. Good Luck Mates!

I Got a Virtual Queue- Now What?

Congratulations! You can now safely tell everyone you are traveling with that they can see the Bluey show! FYI: there is no meet-and-greet; we won’t be able to hug or fist-bump the Bluey or Bingo.

You will be given a group number. The numbers are called in groups 1-10 etc. When your group is called, your family can proceed to the Harambe Train Station in Africa. You’ll find it near the exit of the Kilamajaro Safari.

Cast Members will scan your phone, and you can wait for your train to take you to Conservation Station.

Beginning May 26th, check back with us for all of the logistical information about this new experience.

I hope this helps, and everyone who reads this article is successful in their quest to see Bluey, Bingo, and their friends!
