A Magic Kingdom Morning Surprise – Vlog + Video
While in Orlando last week, I brought my three good friends to Magic Kingdom park inside Walt Disney World. We had three things on our to-do list:
- Experience all three mountains (Space, Splash and Big Thunder).
- Meet a princess.
- Ride Dumbo the Flying Elephant.
With my Touring Plan in hand, we checked through security early and ready for the day ahead. What we didn’t plan was what happened right after stepping into the park.

Awesome video! I was tearing up at your Magical Disney Moment on Main Street, but then I really started crying with you on Dumbo lol!! That’s when you know you bleed Pixie Dust! Ha!
One vlog I would LOVE for you to consider is getting on/off rides with a wheelchair. I’m going in Oct with a young woman who has cerebral palsy and it’s her first time at WDW. She has a manual wheelchair and is completely immobile/transfer dependent. I’m a long time WDW Park visitor, but even I’ve been struggling with recalling seeing load/Unload for wherlchairs! There is very limited info on the web, too. Rolling With The Magic is a great site, but no video.
If you did a series of blogs showing the load/unload sections of rides, I think so many people would appreciate it! It’s a missed opportunity right now to help people with physical disabilities feel better about navigating the park!

I think this is a really great idea, and I’m going to brainstorm ways to cover this topic in a respectful and informational way.
My mom uses an electric scooter while in the parks due to several autoimmune diseases and the first few times navigating the parks were scary for her, so I understand the importance of wanting to see more content regarding the subject.
I will do what I can to research and get in contact with the appropriate people so we can make this happen someday!

Loved the video. My son has a January birthday so Splash Mountain was closed for maintenance when we would visit. He was so excited when we finally visited when it was open!! I can only imagine the excitement after 29 years! Things like riding the firetruck are what makes Disney special. We really enjoyed 3 days at Universal but were ready to head home – 12 days at WDW and we were sad to leave.

When we took our kids on their first Disney trip, my daughter was 6 and my son was 3. My daughter loved small world, but like you we were stuck at the end waiting to disembark. My son in a very loud 3 year old voice blurts out “Don’t they play any other song in this place!?” The entire boat cracked up!

That is the same cast member that helped us get out of the park when my daughter FREAKED OUT during the firework display. She took us out a back way in order to get her out fast, and let her hold her traffic light. It made what should have been a terrible moment for our family, a great one! These moments are so magical!

Oh my goodness, I was dying when you were stuck on small world! That’s torture! My kids would have been excited as that is their favorite room. What am awesome, classic Disney day! I was thinking ” if someone asked us if we wanted to go on the firetruck I’d be so torn. Yes! Would be first answer but then I’d be worried I could get there faster on my own and in front of the rope drop! Ya gotta go with the flow and take those opportunities though! Dumbo. Awww! My son who is almost 5 asked me yesterday if they would still let him on his favorite ride when he was a grown up. Umm yes buddy, when you are 40 and 6’5 like your dad you’ll still be riding Dumbo 🙂

I feel like it was meant to happen to me. My daughter listens to it’s a small world on repeat, so I’ve been conditioned to hear it nonstop. Better me than someone else haha!
We arrived about an hour before rope drop and planned on getting breakfast at Starbucks, so there was plenty of time to get in line. The entire ride experience took no more than ten minutes. I would definitely recommend it should you get the opportunity. It was so wonderful!
This was my first time on Dumbo if you can believe it! Maybe I experienced it when I was five, but I have no memory of it. While in line, my friends and I looked around and the only other adults waiting in line…were with their kids. Like you said though, when you’re 40 and 6’5, it’s still more than okay to enjoy Dumbo!
