Ask It: Ever Done Adventures by Disney?

They say that there’s other places to vacation in the world aside from a Disney theme park or DVC resort. (Who are “they” anyhow?) Okay, it’s true–there’s so much in the world to see and so many amazing places to visit. But what if you could take the Disney difference with you on vacation destinations around the world? That’s the idea about Adventures by Disney trips. These are vacations to desirable locations around the world, everything from safari in Africa to the mountains of Machu Picchu. You can take a river cruise on the major rivers of Europe, or you can explore the fascinating sights and sounds of Asia. There’s even Adventures by Disney trips in the United States. As they say, all magic comes with a price, dearie, and these trips will set you back a pretty penny. They also are only available on certain dates. All this means that not everyone will have had an ABD experience.

This week, we’re asking you:

Have you ever taken an Adventures by Disney trip?

  • No (93%, 385 Votes)
  • Yes (7%, 28 Votes)

  • I’d love too! Sadly, they’re way too pricey for me 🙁

  • I agree with many others – sounds magical, but the cost! I might be able to persuade hubby to do a cruise as its a kid-friendly option….but probably not.

  • I’m always looking at and dreaming about taking an ABD vacation, then I look at the rates, and that stops me.

  • I look at them all the time, but I can book a similar trip for half the cost. I can’t justify the Pixie dust for the cost.

  • Would love too but just can not afford them. They are AMAZING but just cannot do it. 🙁

  • Haven’t yet been, mostly because of $. Read about the ABD European cruises in the Unofficial Cruise line book, and mayyyybe…

  • We strongly considered it for our upcoming trip to Africa. My issue is that at that price point I don’t wish to be traveling in a group of up to 40 in a coach. You are able to get private tours that are guaranteed to leave at your nominated dates with similar activities and special “experiences” as ABD’s and staying at accommodation which are equivalent or superior for the same price. eg I don’t want to go on a safari with 40 people even if there are only 4 per vehicle!

  • It’s too expensive and too scheduled. I ha e done many coach tours before and at this point in my travelling life am not interested in doing more of them.

  • My husband and I want to someday, but finances are a challenge. Like Ben C., we would have to forego a couple of WDW trips to go on an Adventures by Disney trip so it will have to be something VERY special.

  • My wife and I went on a Disney Adventure Vacation to Southern California a little over a year ago. It was, in a word, wonderful. We were taken care of in true Disney fashion. We felt like we were always being treated “over and above” by our guides. Will definitely do this again!

  • Never been, but would love to go on any ABD! Cost is the main reason, I’d have to say no to WDW a couple of years in a row and that’s just too hard!
