Pricing and More Details for Building a Lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop

Recently, I shared the details of what to expect when stepping inside Savi’s Workshop in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This shop will be where Guests can build their own lightsabers. We now have a few more details of just what will be included in your purchasing experience, including the price. (Because building a lightsaber will be its own “show” in of itself.)

As stated before, Guests will enter the shop and meet with the Gatherers who have dedicated their lives to restoring balance in the galaxy by passing on their knowledge of the Force and the ancient ways of the Jedi. (And help you in the creation of your own customized lightsaber.)

Once you meet one of Savi’s Gatherers, you will the go inside and be able to choose one of 4 available hilt themes and receive a cloisonné pin to identify your selection. Themes include:

• Peace and Justice: Salvaged scraps from fallen Jedi temples and crashed starships in these Republic-era designs honor the galaxy’s former guardians.
  Power and Control: Originally forged by dark side warriors, this style features rumored remnants from the Sith homeworld and abandoned temples.
  Elemental Nature: This theme embodies the Force—an energy created by all living things, like Brylark trees, Cartusion whale bones and Rancor teeth.
  Protection and Defense: Hilt materials bear mysterious motifs and inscriptions that reconnect users with the ancient wellspring of the Force.

Once you have chosen your hilt theme, the Savi’s Workshop Gatherers will now help you select the kyber crystal, which is the heart of your lightsaber. Colors include the option of red, blue, green or violet.

You will then assemble you hilt. The parts that will be provided to you will be based on your theme and cloisonné pin. Each box of parts includes:

• 1 hilt
• 4 sleeves (you’ll pick 2)
• 2 emitters (you’ll pick 1)
• 2 pommel caps (you’ll pick 1)
• 2 sets of activation plates and switches (you’ll pick 1 set)

Upon completion of your hilt, the unused parts will be collected by the Gatherers and returned to Savi’s Workshop inventory. These are not included with your lightsaber.

Finally, the Gatherers will connect your hilt to a 36” lightsaber blade.

The cost of this experience will be $199.99 per lightsaber, plus tax and a carrying case is included in that cost. Custom lightsabers are nonrefundable and are not eligible for Annual Passholder or other discounts. If you want any additional customization items, they can be purchased at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities

While there is no age requirement, Disney does recommend Guests be 5 years old or older. The experience area is limited to the builder and one Guest and at least one person in the party must be age 14 or older.

The Savi’s Workshop Handbuilt Lightsabers experience is subject to availability and reservations may be required to be able to build yours. More information on that will be shared if reservations end up being required.
