Disney’s Buy-4-Get-7 Deal To Return Next Week

Details are still being worked out, but we’ve heard from multiple, usually-reliable sources that Disney’s Buy-4-Get-7 deal will return next week. The announcement may be made as early as Monday, but could be as late as Thursday. Value resorts will have a slightly different “Buy-5-Get-2” deal. Travel dates, we hear, could be October 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010. Book by December 20, 2009 (we think that’ll be extended). And you must purchase Magic Your Way tickets to match the number of nights of your stay.

Take all of this with a grain of salt, in particular the announcement dates.

UPDATED:: The offer is available now.

  • The way they wrote it is confusing anybody know if Dec. 25 – Jan 1 is included or blacked out??

  • Crud, just call and the 4/3 deal starts for travel on Nov 1st. We are going in late Oct for Halloween, guess I should have hopped on the free dining deal.

  • So does anyone have any idea which deal is better, the free dining (now expired) vs the 4/3 deal if you did the dining? I bet it doesn’t change much.

Also people have been mentioning a possible $200 gift card, if you call today, make a reservation and the the card isn’t available and then they release the card on Wed of the public release do you think they will give it to you?

  • I have heard from other Disney go-ers that they called and had their current reservations discounted with the 4/3 deal.

  • Call Disney and ask for the 2010 4/3 Deal!!! They are booking if you call. Codes not published until Wednesday. YIPEE! I’m headed to Disney!!

  • Disney isn’t going to tell you anything until it’s officially announced. I chatted with one of them online and he heavily hinted that I should book early because last year when they announced the deal rooms filled up quick.

Either way, I took advantage of this deal last year and it is incredible, the $200 gift card can be used almost anywhere, even at all the shops and stores in downtown disney. I am really hoping to see something soon, I’m sure Disney won’t leave their website without a special offer for too long.

    • Thanks for the advice Greg! If the $200 gift card is offered again, do you have any idea if it can be used to pre-book a dinner at Cinderella’s Royal Table? Or do you have to wait until you check in at the parks to start redeeming the card? My family and I have been dying to go and think that would be a great use for the gift card. Thanks!

  • After reading all 57 comments (YES 57!!! LOL) I can say I am ecstatic my package deal is booked for 7 nights, 8 days of base tickets AND the DDP all with my PIN number which gave me quite a whopping discount…I’d go blind if I had to figure out the buy 4 get 3 free!!! LOL

Len – I feel your pain! ha! lol

  • Just curious….we are arriving on 12/12 and departing on 12/18. I just can’t justify the hundreds of dollars extra ( at the GF) for the night of the 18th although we would love to have stayed that 7th night. In the buy 4 get 7, do es anyone know how that would actually work? Would we get our last 3 nights free or would they average out the 7 night stay and just charge us 4 nights at ther averaged out price. I am hoping people who have done the 4/3 deal before where there were rate changes would be able to weigh in on this question. Thanks!!

    • if you are only staying 6 nights, you will still be charged for the first four and get the last two free…

  • I’m looking for confirmation on Disney moving the 90-day ADR window to 180 days sometime in late October – has this been confirmed? I’m going to the World in March, so I would be able to book on that date in October instead of later.

Let me know – thanks for all of your great work!

  • I’m booked for Dec. 14th through the 20th. We have free dining and 4 adults at Boardwalk Inn. Do you think it would be a better deal to go with buy 4 get 3? the extra would be nice but we’d have to redo our flights which would put us back about 300 right there. I’d like the better deal but hope it won’t be too much trouble to switch everything around.

    • If its going to cost you money to change you’re probably going to be just as well keeping your current reservation. when 4 for 3 actually gets released you could always call and see what it would cost you and then decide. Its just one of those situations where you have to do the math. And don’t forget to factor in the cost of food when you do your calculations.

I’ll be at the Boardwalk Dec 13-18th before moving to pop for a couple days! Since I had 40% email pin and we aren’t staying a full week I’m keeping my current ressie. Plus my friends and I all have annual passes and having to buy tickets is unappealing. See you there!

  • Has the buy 4 get 7 applied to villas in the past? I’m traveling with a large family.

    • Villas were not included last year.

      • Villas were included, and those staying at SSR and OKW for the summer dates received a gift card bonus.

      • So which is it, villa’s included or not last year? planning on OKW in April!

      • don’t know what this year holds, but i am aware of bookings at vwl, ssr and okw last year.

  • Any mention if the gift card for booking during value season will be offered again?

    • Oh, I do hope so! We are going in January, and that would be icing on the cake.

  • I’m confused. The first few comments seem to suggest that the 4 for 7 deal is for both rooms and tickets. Later the comments seem to say its just for rooms. Which is accurate?

  • I am planning to visit WDW in May 2010, as I did last year. We took advantage of the buy 4 get 3 free deal last year in May. Now I realize that 2010 buy 4 get 3 free deal has not been officially announced yet (grain of salt taken) but was are your thoughts about Disney including May 2010 in the buy 4 get 3 deal later on?
I would be able to change my plans to March to accommodate if May isn’t likely to be included.
    Just curious about any thoughts….thanks!

    • There’s nothing guaranteed, Sara, but Disney extended this year’s B-4-G-7 deal through May, so it’s possible. Even if they didn’t have this exact deal, other room-only and package deals will be available in May as well.

  • There were a couple of things about this deal that had me curious. With the speculation that this deal might apply for the rest of 2009 (as well as possibly for early 2010) it makes me wonder how much bookings might be down for the rest of the year. Clearly a buy 4 get 7 is designed to get people to stay for a week which would imply that not only is there availability at the resorts but that there’s availability in 7 day chunks for most of the resorts. The other thing that got me curious is the potentially different deal for the value resorts. The only reason I can see them offering a better deal at the moderates and deluxes than at the values would be if the bookings at moderates and deluxes are down in disproportionate numbers than at the values. The better deal might then be seen as an upsell.

    Reply
    • I just did a bit of math and I agree with George…if that variation between value and moderate will in fact happen, then a week at a moderate with a 7 day base ticket would cost me less than $100 more than at a value ($1739 at a value compared to $1825 at a moderate)

If I could just find a cheap flight for March Break then I’d be all over this deal!

      Reply
    • The moderates and deluxes are almost certainly down more than the value resorts, and Disney’s tried a number of strategies (such as unannounced upgrades) for moving those rooms.

  • Last year when tickets were included it was nice because I paid for 4 tickets, got 3 free, and bought the no expiry option (it only applied to 4 tickets I paid for). Good thing because we all got sick and only ended up using 2 days of tickets so I now have 5 left.

  • What is the Buy-4-Get-7 deal? I have a trip planned in November, but we’re staying off site.

    • If you buy 4 nights at regular price at a Disney hotel, you get 3 nights free. Last year it was called the buy 4 nights get 3 nights free deal (for a 7 night stay). But this article is calling it buy 4 nights get 7 nights. It’s basically the same thing, though.

  • I did this promotion last year for me and my 4 year old son. We stayed at AKL with a savannah view for less than $180/night (not including tax) when you did the math. I purchased 7 days of park tickets as part of a MYW package when I booked. But, if you look at ticket prices, there is only about a $10 difference per person between a 4 day pass and a 7 day pass. I did not purchase a dining plan because 1) we brought cereal, bought milk and juice at the gift shop, and ate in the room (AKL has refrigerators); 2) I don’t eat that much food, and I didn’t think my son would have been satisfied with the child menus; and 3) I didn’t feel the dining plans met our needs (didn’t want a table service meal everyday, but didn’t want to skip a table service or waste credits by only getting the quick service plan). With the exception of one splurge at Boma (which was VERY pricey for one adult + one child), we both ate for under $40/day.

My big deciding factor with the promotion was the hotel. I would never have paid full price for a Savannah-view room at AKL (and it was so amazing!), so the promotion allowed me to upgrade without feeling guilty. Without the promotion we almost certainly would have stayed at a moderate resort. If you’ve ever wanted to stay at one of the Deluxe hotels but have had a hard time justifying the cost, then you should definitely consider the buy 4-get 3 promotion!

  • With this deal, can I stay 10 nights and still get the 3 free, or is the max. length of stay 7 nights?

    Reply
    • If it works like it did last year, you could buy 7 and get 3 free (total 10 nights.) I don’t think you could buy 10 and get 3 (total 13 nights), since the max # ticket days would be 10. If you wanted to stay 13 nights, you could buy 4, get 3, + buy another 4, get 2 free = total 13.

At least that was my understanding. We just bought 4 and got 3 free. 🙂

      Reply
      • Did you need to buy 4 days of park tickets in order to get the 3 days free?

      • This deal looks like you get NO free days on tickets. Plus you are required to purchase tickets for your entire stay time.

      • I think that is correct. Although there may have been different rules for annual passholders (required 1 day base ticket only?)
A comment above addressed that. That wasn’t an issue for us, as we didn’t get APs.

      • Sorry, I typed too slowly. My reply was to Matthew’s question.

  • So if you are staying 7 days can you still buy a 10 day ticket? I will be going offsite afterward and would need the 10 day regardless.

    Reply
    • you can always get the required ticket and the upgrade it once you are on property and pay the difference.

      Reply
      • if you try to upgrade/add more days to a buy 4-get 3 free ticket, the “three free” will be eliminated and you will pay the price for the upgrade from a 4day ticket to a ten day ticket… so the discount on the ticket portion of the promotion will be lost…

  • This package looks like you will have to pay for all seven days of Magic Your Way tickets. Looks like only the hotel will be discounted. Is that the way it worked the last time?

    Reply
    • Last time they did not have the length of stay ticket requirement; you could get as little as a single day base ticket.

      Reply
  • If you have already purchased tickets separate from a package, this deal probably won’t help you.

If you have already purchased a Magic Your Way package that includes tickets, you may be able to modify your existing reservation.

    • OK–this is crazy!

I am leaving in two weeks, for 10 days. Booked full
package with Free Dining for Port Orleans Riverside. Magic
your way, park hopper, water parks and more.

Would this deal be an advantage for me? How different would
it be? Should I stick with what I’ve got?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts, folks!

      Reply
      • You would lose the Free Dining.

For 2 adults, that’s a value of just under $80 per night; for a 10-night stay, that would be just under $800. If there are more travelers, the value would be greater.

With this new deal, on a 7-night stay, you would save roughly 43% on your room cost or about $96/night – assuming a standard room. The savings would be slightly less on a 10 night stay – in other words, it may even out.

      • I should have added.

        Two adults, 3 children.
        15 yrs
        12 yrs
        7 yrs

Yes–I was thinking it might be a “same-same” when all is said and done. And with free dining, we are eating in places we normally wouldn’t–going to Hoop-Dee-Doo for example, and LE CELLIER (yay!).

      • With that traveling party, I believe Free Dining would be the better value, especially if you are taking advantage of different restaurants.

      • Thanks!

        I’m calmer, now, lol.

  • This doesn’t seem good for people with annual passes. You would have to buy a 7 day pass. What do you think?

    Reply
    • You could just take that 7-day pass and apply it to your AP renewal….

      Rick

      Reply
      • I already have a one day pass and 2 seven day passes to use or apply to my AP. I don’t need any more 7 day passes.

  • Say we buy dining with the first 4 days would we receive dining free for the last 3 days?

    Reply
    • No, dining is not part of the “free” part.

      Reply
      • So the free part would be for park tickets and hotel rooms?

      • Discount on room and tickets only – that’s correct.

If you are staying for 7 nights (for a non-value resort), it works out to be a 43% discount.

The last time, AP holders were able to book this package with only a 1 day base ticket – there was no length of stay ticket requirement.

      • My wife and I are going for 7 nights in the begining of December and we only purchased a 4 day park ticket so I do not think this deal will help us.

      • Joe, Question to which no CM is able to give a straight answer………..we are going to WDW in a week. Am I able to take our 1 day base tickets and apply them to annual passes? Can I take my daughter’s 1 day base ticket and apply it to MY purchase of an annual pass? (We are going again in Dec so want annual passes. We purchased a 6 day PH for her using one of your sites, so we don’t need her 1 day base ticket at all. ) We have 5 (3 adult, 2 kid one day base tickets and want to purchase 2 adult AP and 2 kid annual passes). I’m sure I didn’t explain this well………..which may be why they can’t help me! Thanks, Nancy

      • I’m pretty certain that you can upgrade an adult 1 day base ticket to an adult annual pass and that you could upgrade a child 1 day base ticket to a child annual pass. That would leave you with an extra adult 1 day ticket. What I don’t think you can do (at least I was unable to do it) was to upgrade 2 tickets to 1 annual pass. As for upgrading a child’s 1 day base ticket to an adults annual pass I don’t know.

  • Woohoo!

    Reply
  • WOW Again!!! Now I’ll have to compare that to my upcoming trip. Always save money if you can. I did it the last time, and saved a bunch. Hope you can do this.
