Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Nighttime Spectacular to Debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

We all knew that there would be some major changes with the holiday experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, thanks to the retirement of The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights last year. This year, an all-new nighttime spectacular will debut to bring in merriment to the park.

Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! will premiere at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on November 14. This nighttime spectacular will feature a projection show, special effects, fireworks, and snow.

The façade of the Chinese Theater will be the main backdrop for this brand new show, which will feature an immersive experience, paired with great musical score that includes holiday classics with a twist.

The show will includes scenes from the ABC special Prep & Landing, Beauty and the Beast, Bambi, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and two of my favorites, Pluto’s Christmas Tree and Mickey’s Christmas Carol. The show will build to a very festive finale and a special message from Santa Claus.

For those who want more holiday cheer, there will be a special dessert party offered nightly. The Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Holiday Party will feature holiday-inspired snacks, desserts, and specialty beverages. In addition, each dessert party guest will get a pair of 3D glasses to use while watching the show; the glasses will create spectacular holographic illusions of gingerbread men, candy canes, snowflakes, and ornaments on any bright point of light. The Dessert Party will occur one hour prior to each performance of Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! and costs $69 for adults (ages 10 and up) and $39 for children (ages 3-9). This price includes taxes and gratuities.

The Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! holiday spectacular will run through December 31.

  • Well this explains why they have not been showing the Star Wars fireworks show in the calendar. I am bummed. Really wanted to see the Star Wars fireworks at Thanksgiving

  • So this will totally mess up any Fantasmic plans, won’t it? My family is going over Xmas, and we already have a Fantasmic package all booked. I really want to see this but it seems like it’ll be at the same time.

    • Don’t know if this helps, but the Fantasmic package passes we got in August were good for any show over the following 5 nights, might give you a bit of flexibility?

      • Possibly, my dad made all the reservations for the family trip (taking me, my wife and my twins for their first trip!) so I’ll have to look into it. The bad part is we didn’t opt for the Park Hopper add-on, so that limits us.

  • I’m curious if regular “movie” 3D glasses will work for those of us in the crowd.

    • I received some paper 3D glasses for Osborne Lights last year. I think those might work.

      • Were the paper glasses the ones with the one red and one blue side or the clearish glasses? Thanks

      • These paper glasses are white on the inside. The outside are decorated from the 2015 Osborne Lights. The eye ‘glasses’ part is a plastic with a grid line-filled in like pattern. I don’t think these are 3D as much as the special pattern in the eye part lets you see some additionally added lights or designs. Maybe Disney will have these paper glasses for pass holders again this year – or different ones for this show.

  • Is that name . . . kind of awful?

    • It is. But at least they’re being consistent in giving terrible names to their new Christmas stuff (Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration).

  • I notice that the new show is at 6:45 pm most nights with Fantasmic at 7:00 pm. Are they making it so we have to choose between the two?

  • I just experienced “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.” [Note to self, why give something just a name when you can give it a description!] The projections on the Chinese Theater were spectacular–like the description said! The dessert party was worth what ever it was I paid. The food and drinks were very good. The viewing area was, in fact, a premium location. I expect something similar for this event.

    That said, the new Star Wars fireworks are not as fireworks-y impressive as the former Star Wars fireworks. I think it is a great evening for couples or a solo traveler. I am not sure I would pay for the dessert party if I were there with a large group, or a pack of children.

    I will probably go ahead and attend this event as I have a trip on the books for mid-December. [Thanks to Disney Travel for really nice AP discounts!]

  • I’m excited to see this Christmas show and fireworks!!! This is a great addition to the Christmas offerings at WDW.

    …$69.00 for a dessert party??? Zooowallies!!! – Yet, I’m sure they will be sold out.

  • Do we know when the dessert party will be bookable and/or where it will be located? Not sure if it thematically appropriate in Launch Bay anymore!

    • You have to call customer service to get tickets. I already bought mine for the week of Thanksgiving.
