New Features in the Android Lines App for Walt Disney World

Tonight after the parks in Walt Disney World close, we are releasing the updates for the Android Lines App that will add Lightning Lane (and more) to the app.

New Features

For Personalized Touring Plans, you can now:

  • Add a Lightning Lane return time that you’ve secured
  • Add a Boarding Group number you’ve been assigned
  • Add a duration to attractions like Club Cool
  • Add a scheduled arrival time to experiences like Droid Depot
  • Add/edit notes on plan steps.

Note that some features will only show up on plans for the current date after the plan’s park is open for the day. For example, you can only add a Lightning Lane return time for a plan for today. Those options will be absent from plans for other dates.

The new update will allow adding Lightning Lane return times, as well as other new features.

Update Problems

Some customers have reported that the new app crashes after opening it, or logging in. If you experience this, please uninstall the Lines WDW app from your phone and then install it fresh from the Google Play Store. If you notice other issues with the app, please contact us and report them.

  • Great news! These are features I have really been anticipating in the app. Bravo to all the hard working touringplans folks who are helping to get these updates in before the holiday crush.
Any possible way we might get the Disneyland update soon? Or if not is there a work around you suggest?

    • We expect new versions of the Disneyland and Universal Orlando apps for iOS and Android in 2022.

In the meantime, you can add same-day (that is, your plan must be for today, and the plan’s park must be open right now) Lightning Lane return times in the current Disneyland app. You need to view your plan and click “Edit Plan” to add them, and be sure to click Submit to save them after you make the changes.
