Passholders Good-to-Go Days And Other “Bringing Back the Fun” Changes
There’s been a steady run of announcements that Disney World touts as “Bringing Back the Fun” of visiting the parks by removing pandemic-induced planning measures. The latest of these is an update on the previously announced “good-to-go days” for Annual Passholders, but let’s take a moment and run down everything that’s coming back or changing in early January of 2024.
Annual Passholders will have “good-to-go” days when they don’t need park reservations.
Annual Passholders can already enter the parks after 2 pm without a reservation, except on Saturdays and Sundays at the Magic Kingdom. This was part of an earlier wave of “more fun, less planning” updates announced in February, 2023.
Beginning in January 2024, Annual Passholders will have good-to-go days where they may enter the parks without a reservation, as long as their pass is not blocked out on that date.
Beginning on January 11, good-to-go days will be shown on the theme park reservation calendar, Annual Passholder admissions calendar and also in My Disney Experience app.
Park Reservations will no longer be necessary for regular ticket holders.
Beginning on January 9, 2024, if you’ve got a regular old Disney World ticket, you will no longer need to make a Park Pass reservation to enter the parks. Park Passes will still be needed for Annual Passholders (except on good-to-go days), and for those holding Military Salute or certain other types of promotional tickets.
Park Hoppers will no longer need to wait until 2 pm.
Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines. Beginning on January 9, 2024, if you have entered a theme park and you have admission with park hopping privileges, you may switch to another park at any time of the day. You can tap in, turn right around and go back out through the tapstiles, and head off to another park if you want to.
As you rejoice, please spare a moment’s commiseration for bloggers who will have to update 8,329 articles on Genie, Genie+, Lightning Lanes, dining, transportation, and everything else that talks about various restrictions related to park hopping beginning at 2 pm. But don’t worry about us too much, because we’re actually pretty excited about this too.
The Disney Dining Plan returns.
Speaking of dining … the Disney Dining Plan is back! This bit of news only affects those with arrival dates on or after January 9, 2024 who want to book a Disney World Vacation package. But if that’s you, then all-day park hopping is great news, since it means you can book a lunch reservation in a park without committing yourself to a park reservation in that park. Of course, this only applies if you have a Park Hopper ticket or an annual pass. But if you do, it just makes it that much easier to plan your day.
Do you have a trip to Disney World planned for after January 9, 2024? Which of these changes are you most excited about? Let us know in the comments!
