What to See and Do at Disneyland’s Star Wars Season of the Force

Between a number of high quality streaming shows, new video games to look forward to, and the usual endless stream of merchandise, Star Wars have been eating good lately. This extends to Disneyland where Season of the Force is now underway. It’s a celebration of all things Star Wars and with it comes a new character and droids to meet, the return of the popular Hyperspace Mountain, new destinations for Star Tours, themed food, and more. In this post we’ll show you what to see and do at Disneyland’s Star Wars Season of the Force.

New BD-X Droids in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge

New droids can be seen roaming in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. These BD-X droids walk around while they beep and boop and “scan” visitors to Batuu. Stuff like this is perfect and much needed for Galaxy’s Edge. I hope some day we can’t walk 5 feet without tripping over a droid in this land. The BD-X droids can be seen outside of the marketplace area of the land and around Droid Depot. The droids don’t have a set time, but will appear randomly with a time range shown in the Disneyland app. Here’s a video of the droids in action:

New Meet and Greet Character

Sabine Wren from the Ahsoka series on Disney+ now makes daily appearances in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. Times for her appearances are in the Disneyland app and she’ll make her rounds in the area outside of the marketplace and near Ronto Roasters. She is a roaming character so there is no set queue to meet her.

Star Tours – The Adventures Continue

Star Tours is already jam packed with over 250 story combinations to experience, but new for Season of the Force are scenes and characters from Mandalorian (including Grogu), Ahsoka, and Andor. The new scene features purrgil, which are the giant flying space whales from Ahsoka. Giant flying space whales! This is the best sentence I’ve ever had the privilege of typing.

Fire of the Rising Moons

Watching fireworks from inside Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland is nothing new. But what is new is watching fireworks with soundtrack made specifically for this area of the park. John William’s legendary score is accompanied by a narration from a new character called, get ready for this, Tohan Lege, the Lore Weaver. The Lore Weaver explains he has “long since gone” but his voice and stories live on through his droid, Bard. Amazing stuff. 10 out of 10. No notes. Galaxy’s Edge was already my favorite spot to watch fireworks in Disneyland, but this makes it so much better.

Star Wars Themed Food & Drink

New entrees and snacks can be found at Docking Bay 7, Galactic Grill and Oga’s Cantina. Speaking of Oga’s, glassware from the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser are available for purchase.

A new mug is available at Oga’s Cantina, The Grinning Loth-cat Souvenir Mug served with Guava Coconut Milk with Basil Crystals.

Jabba The Hutt The Popcorn Bucket

A spectacular new Jabba the Hutt popcorn bucket has hit Disneyland. For $34.25 you can bring home your own Jabba, along with a strap and detached keychain of one of the greatest characters in fiction, Salacious B. Crumb. This popcorn bucket can be found at Galactic Grill served with fries for $31.79 and the popcorn stand near Space Mountain for $34.25. Did I mention his mouth opens up and his iconic laugh plays from a speaker on his back? Perfect.

Cylinder Hunt

A new game can be played in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge called cylinder hunt. You’re given a map with clues to find and a message to decode via small cylinder’s hidden around the land. The Cylinder Hunt game is free to play and is for all ages.

Grab a card from a cast member at The Star Trader in Tomorrowland and then head to Galaxy’s Edge.

When you’re done you win this card with Chewbacca on it.

On the back is a translation of the Aurebesh alphabet.

Season of the Force runs now through June 2 at Disneyland. What do you think of this year’s offerings. Let us know in the comments.

  • Are there Star Cruiser drinks available in Oga’s? Or just the glassware?
